Slugs in cricket 25?

I personally haven't tested the new Nielsen slugs. I have some of the 39 and 36 grain and accuracy is acceptable at moderate distances. But now let me tell you the varmint knocker slugs from D-RIG are the bomb! He's made me several different weights but the 32.8 big hollow points and the 33 grain hollow base with the small S2 nose hollow point are the best ive tested.

I'm shooting a power tuned Cricket carbine and I'm pushing the 33s at 950fps with great accuracy. My farthest woodchuck this year is 147 yards and I pegged a crow the other day at 141 with the scope at 10X..

James from Michigan,

Thank you James, whats the best way to get the varmint knockers? I know he goes by d-rig on here?

Yes, Cricket .25 cal. guns can shoot slugs very well.

Your power tuned gun should be great with them. I would suggest 31 - 34gr. weights to start.

I shoot 2 - .25 cal. Crickets. Slug only guns. I make my own slugs, so I have no idea which ones to get.

I have 1 totally stock gun. A 30.5gr. - 31gr. slug @ 870 - 890 FPS has always worked best in it. Good 100 yard HP expansion.

I recently built another Cricket .25 from a .35 cal. Cricket. A 38gr. @ 940 FPS This gun has the power to get very good HP expansion even at 200 yards.

Your gun should fall in between them somewhere. Just my experience with Crickets and slugs.

Hi Long Shot

I like your video " .25 cal airgun slugs at 173 yards "...,good shooting

I wonder what has been changed in your .35 Cricket except the barrel and probe

which barrel you use,,is the gun regulated any other modyfications ?

regards

Greg

I posted about it here a couple months ago.

My slug gun build – .35 cal. converted to .25 cal. with an index-able barrel.

Here's how it looks now. TJ barrel.
