Slugs & barrels?

Got .90" 5 shot group @ 100yd group with Taipan Vet .25 with the Varment Knocker 33Gn, totally awesome! Group might have been a fluke but if not that is one sweet combo, I have more of them on order and will test further. Tried the HS 48 grain and it really did not like them.. The NSA .30 60gn slugs do ok in my RAW out to about 70 yds then all bets are off but that barrel is designed for JSBs. If they make a slug barrel I will order one without question as slugs are the direction I want to go for all of my AGs... A conversion kit for the HM1000x to use a slug barrel would make my day, I would convert from .30 to .22 to get enough power to push a heavy .22. Just daydreaming :)

Anyone try slugs in their Taipan?

Particularly .25 cal?

Thanks in advance!

Matt

Though not .25, I've shot a variety of NSA slugs through my .22 Taipan Veteran out to 273 yards.

Slugs seem to shoot well out of a Taipan Veteran from what I have seen so far. They drop more than the 18 grain JSB Diabolo's (which I was surprised to see at distance since they supposedly have a much higher BC), but they do seem to do very slightly better in the wind. They do carry much more energy at the target, the splash is much bigger and the targets move and ring more with the slugs.

Here is my target at 273 yards. You can see the 3 bigger splashes are the slugs (NSA 28 grain RBT) and the 3 smaller splashes are the 18 grain JSB's.
