Finally, that's awesome! But again - if it's a .22 league why allow any caliber other than .22? .22 projectile of any kind, nothing bigger.

A .22 league that only allows .22 caliber? What other crazy ideas you got floating around in your head? Seriously, though, the only reason I can think of as to why they allow other calibers would be to increase participation, maybe boost the appeal of the league. As with almost everything in life, somebody has to pay the bill, and more participation helps with that. Hope you and yours are doing well during this craziness!

What happens is if a guy shows up with an air rifle and he's the only one with an AG he's extremely outclassed by the rimfires if he uses pellets. Even 22 cal JSB 25 gr.

Yes technically he's shooting in airgun class but if it's windy there's a huge amount of missing going on so it's not fun because even the lower scoring 22rf shooters with mediocre gear are hitting more often. If there were a bunch of guys shooting PCP's it'd be much more fun because then you can try to outscore them.

Also a lot of these NRL22 matches have targets farther than 100Y, the one I go to has targets out to 208Y. It's easy to hit a 5" plate at that distance with my 22rf when the wind is slight. I got 9/10 a few months ago.

What I'm getting at is that 22 cal, 25 cal, or 30 cal slugs with a .09-ish BC in a 90fpe AG would bridge the gap more compared to pellets making the match more enjoyable. Actually 22rf's don't have very good ES, like 40fps for match ammo, and PCP's can have much lower ES than that which would help hit percentage at longer distances.

The major problem right now with PCP's and slugs is getting the precision down to constant sub moa for AG's to be somewhat competitive with rimfires. In other words, and in theory, the worst group out of the rifle has to be less than an 1" if there was no wind at 100Y. A good rimfire with match ammo will do this.

One of the coolest things I can think of would be winning a NRL22 match using slugs in a PCP against the rimfire guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah basically they are trying to boost participation by allowing slugs. I think they should have allowed 30 cal with slugs but imposed a slug weight and fpe cap and probably the same with 25 cal. If some guy shows up with a 25 cal Texan shooting 70's at 1000 fps some of the targets are going to be flying off or getting bent, lol.

Just my opinion and up for conversation.

I'm pretty sure they have NRL-22 in Oregon, would love to see a PCP with slugs put some whoop-a$$ on the .22 LR RF guys out to 200 meters. That would be very cool... Looks like you're the man for the job! Hope to read about you once the matches start back up after the Covid-19 restrictions are lifted. Step into the Arena...

That's pretty good! Now let's see a 6x5 at 100Y with your rifle with slugs and pellets. It's six groups of 5 shots at 50Y and 100Y. It'd be interesting to see how you'd compare going against 22rf's. Here's the rules of a contest over at snipershideforums. https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/6x5-thread-v4-0-new-1-1-20.6253073/

You'll see steve123 on the initial results from back in 2013. I only shot the contest once at 100Y and once at 50Y with Lapua Polar Biathlon, keep in mind that most of the highest scoring competitors kept trying many times until they beat their previous score which are in the results shown. Can you imagine competing against these guys with your Impact! Then factor in 3 times the windage needed for pellets and almost twice the windage needed for slugs. Scroll down the page results to the current high scores, that's astounding, WOW!

I wish I knew how to post pics from my phone to AGN. I put a full mag with 15 of the 16 shots with my 25 cal impact into less than an inch vertical one day a couple weeks ago! Then I shot an EBR card of 25 shots at 100Y a few days later during a low wind day and only scored 220??? Probably averaged 2.3" with some flyers??? It just seems AG's weird out from day to day, whereas rimfires are more consistent???

Steve, that sounds like a very good test of a gun/shooter/ammo accuracy. Six groups of five shots each, shot consecutively. Not "semi-pseudo-partial groups", but true five shot groups. All on the same sheet of paper. Now that'll separate the men from the boys, tough at 100 yards, and brutal at 200 yards! Even better, shoot an EBR size target 25 bulls 25 shots at 200 yards. I'd love to see someone score better than say 175 at that range. That's "only" hitting the 7 ring on average which is larger than MOA (2.8 inches)...
