Slug Shootout: Griffin, Varmit Knockers, H&N, and FX Hybrids

Sonny, no problem. Thanks for watching.

Biohazardman, I tuned it for the lightest weight slug. I was able to get FX hybrids up to 1010 but backed it off to 990. From there I know the rest of them were all heavier and would be flying slower.

Long Gun Dallas, thanks for the comments. Those Griffins are turning out to be good slugs. Thanks for the info. I'll try those 36gr in a gun some day.

Good video, thanks. Try some of the .217 NSA 20.2 grain HP DB slugs. They are just as accurate as the RD Monsters out of my Eddy R3 Long at 985 FPS. Without a doubt more accurate than the FX Hybrid slugs. About a month ago I shot four ground squirrels at 160 yards with the 20.2 NSA, one shot one kill. The calculated BC is 0.075 in my gun at 110 yards. The posted BCs for most slugs are just SWAGs....

Great inforation, Mike thanks! I gets some of those when I get my Knockouts and do another round of testing.

I always appreciate the members here putting out videos showing all their experiences with all aspects of air rifle shooting. One thing you will find with the FX Hybrids is they are true expanding slugs meaning they will expand on tissue. Many are still posting pictures of their slugs hitting bone and thinking that shows expansion. The Griffin LDC slugs also show great expansion if you want to pay more for that performance. One thing if you are into shooting at longer ranges of over 100 yards I would determine the slugs b.c. in your rifle which will really come in to play. I will say in my FX Impact .22 cal the FX Hybrids even did a little better than their post b.c., some other makes of slugs were not close to their posted b.c.. Good Luck. Bill
