Slug liner vs pellet liner

I’ve been trying to get my impact MK II in 25 cal to shoot slugs with less then I expected results after trying a rather large sampling of slugs.

I got to looking at the two liners that I have and I can not distinguish a difference. I’m beginning to ask the obvious question. Do I have a slug liner as per my order?

How do you distinguish a slug from a pellet liner ?

Ive got a bore scope and if there is any difference between the two liners that I have I can’t see it. Externally they look identical to me as well

Seems that at the very least the liners should have some type of individual identity so you don’t mix them up (which I admit I’ve done)

Thanks in advance John Heckman

Mine came with a thin plastic ring or tape around it designating it a .25 slug A liner. I expect another way to tell the difference would be to push a pellet through the barrel. The pellet liner should be tighter all the way through especially at the choke. The slug liner should be a bit looser end to end including the choke.

Grabbed this from someone's post thought it might be helpful.

I think I seen on a Ernest Rowe video the Slug Liner has two rings on the outside breach end of the liner. So when you put your liner in, to make sure you put the right end towards the breach/block you look for the ring on the liner & that goes towards the breach- the Slug Liner is supposed to have two rings so it can be identified from a pellet liner... it’s in one of the videos I watched “””
