Slug gun choices.

Blackdiesel - His advice for enough power is very important. The barrels? Well I have two after market .25 cal. barrels on my bench right now. Because I want more down range velocity for proper HP expansion and energy dump.

My stock Cricket .25 shoots "some" 31 gr. slugs very accurate. Better than pellets.

But, the power in a stock gun is just not enough power for me. JSB - 25.4gr. @ 948 FPS = Slug - 31gr. @ 865 - 885 FPS.

Different slugs of the same weight with a different base can have very different velocity's. As noted above.

FX Impact MK11 in .35 cal. (not available yet) with a machined .25 cal. no choke barrel ?????????????????

That might work.

Hi Black diesel what is carrear gun ??? I never tried sumatra but I agree you need alot of power , the Texan is king for slugs and can shoot very accurate in .308 , my friend has hit steel out to 1200 yards but can hit targets constantly , for a stock gun the texan .

I see on 2019 alot of the industry has gone to the small bore calibers like .22 caliber shooting light slugs and with higher BC makes them longer range and more retained energy down range . like the FX impact and crowns with slug liner in .22 that alot on here shoot .

Career 707 is another Korean gun that predated the Sumatra. The Sumatra is pretty much a copy of a Career 707. It has an inline magazine instead of a rotary magazine, other wise they are the same. The Air Force Escape and Condor are small bore guns and they are capable of pushing around 100 fpe in 25 cal like the Sumatra.

I have been testing some Mr. Hollow Point 43 grain slugs sized at .252 in my Crown .25. Preliminary testing shows good results. I have NOT shot paper nor chronographed any slugs yet. I have shot steel targets of 2" at 50+ yards and the accuracy I am seeing with those targets is similar to JSB 34 grain pellets out of the Crown with the same apparent POI at the earlier stated distance.. I have a feeling testing of the Crown will be delayed with the pending arrival of a Huben K1 Gen 5 in 25 caliber. ;)
