As those who have been reading my posts on the Pellets, Projectiles, Slugs... forum know I have been doing some ballistic testing into ballistic gel. My contention has been that we are not getting the expansion people are thinking with slugs on smaller pests birds and game unless you are hitting bone. I have always thought the loud impact pops is more a factor of increased fpe and downrange or kinetic energy. I compared the .22 cal. NSA's 23 grain to the new FX Hybrids. Anyway I did some testing on a dead pigeon and here are the results. Some may find this a little disturbing to watch but gaining information to make our shots more effective and humane is not a bad thing. Bill
