3 Shots 125 Yards perfect evening no wind. Accurate molds 625-bt .513 diameter powder coated and then sized to .510. Airforce Texan 50 cal TX2 valve. Stock other than carbon fiber sleeve to make full 1 inch diameter barrel. Sight mark wraith 4-30x50 eagle vision 108 moa pare 008 base. Velocity is exactly 750 fps tethered at max power wheel at 3625 fps. Was to scared to shoot any more and screw up this group😀 Recoil is heavy for real.

Just a quick update on the Texan .50. Had it out for the first round of reigning in the accuracy and it's going to be a challenge. The Umarex .350 gr. was at least within a few inches at 100 yards and that will of course improve with some adjusting to air pressure/power. However, the Hunter Supply .510 ammo is off by 5 or 6 feet (yes, feet) at 100 yards. I don't think it's a 'bad bullet', but just a not a good match for the Texan .50.

The journey begins. I have a mold from Accurate that hopefully will be here in the coming weeks (months maybe)

For the record, I have a firelapped barrel and a Diamond stock.

Ammo is expensive, so ripping through a bunch of bullets is not practical. Hopefully this helps someone else save some dollars getting going.

I posted the above a day or two ago on the Big Bore forum. The timing of your post is impeccable. Very impressive group. I'm shocked at the size of the bullets; I have a 350 gr. mold from Accurate on the way and I'm wondering if it's too light. Thank you for posting the results of your shoot.

I'm curious, why did you choose that particular mold? It's seems so big compared to others and to me it seems like a such a gamble. But kudos to you for getting it done. I have a Texan .308 and have gone through a bunch of molds/bullets before finally finding the magic one and I'm hoping to avoid that (at least a little) with the .50 cal.

513 is the diameter that works best for my gun then size to. 510 . it's a diameter smaller the accuracy really suffers. Slug your barrel and get your diameter than order your mold. I have 300 yr Arsenal mold . lee 450 and noe mold at 460 grain gas check. And the accurate mold for the 625 spire point boat tail. I found out at 1st when shooting at 160 yd that 300 gr. bullets flu no flatter than the 450 gr. flies so it is not worth shooting lighter bullets at all. The 650 gr. bullet twice as good in the wind it has less bearing surface being a powder coat design bullet I think he greatly helps. In my gun the gas check NOE design molds all shoot much better without using the gas check they have less bearing surfaces powder coated they've all work well. Velocity in stock Texan 50 TX2 valve powder coated. 300 gr. 900 fps 450 850 fps and 460 gr 860 feet per second and the 475 gr. 825' per second accurate molds 650 grain spire point boat tail at 750' per second exactly.

I'm going to get the African air ordinance 4,500 psi upgrade soon😀 and I'll be able to shoot those 650 gr. spirit point bt at 940' fps. hopefully with a ballistic coefficient of 0.5 that will have 1,000 foot pounds of energy at 300 yd with a one second flight time. With a cold shot adjustable base it will be a pretty Impressive at long range for a air gun lol. Recoil sucks from the 650 gr you can't have it all

No I never got the upgrade kit😐. My Texan broke in stock form and had a lot of drama sending back to Airforce for.repairs. Got my Texan back form Airforce new parts. Short amount of rounds and it broke again. I tore it apart and found the problem. My Texan actually wears out the pin that goes through the sear. I want my 650 spire point boat tails going 900fps. But I'm having problems keeping my gun together in stock form.. I think a.few minor upgrades need to be made to Texan platform to.handle recoil and stress. Recoil.actually ripped threads out of frame.with front stock forearm shooting in my BOG tripod!!!!! I made a stock that attaches to the dovetail rail clamping on instead of.threading into aluminum frame.... Hopefully finances improve and I can get a booster pump and AOA upgrade😀
