slow leak solved. Will anything rust?

It was loosing 25 bars every 3 days. My initial suspect is spot on using hair shampoo and water. Will the water create rust or anything?

Which should i use to remove the water and shampoo?

Can i use the “dry lube” to lube the o-rings or the “silicon lube”? The dry lube indicates it is safe on rubber. Which among the two can be used to lube the pellet?
I appreciate any inputs please.

You probably want to take it apart and wipe the inside. Last time I put soapy water on my marauder gauge to find a leak. After a month I took it apart and look inside the tube to find it had rusted where the gauge is on the air tube.

Thank you. I appreciate the prompt reply while the gun is still in front of me :)

For leak detection I simply use a couple of drops Dawn dishwashing detergent and water in a spray bottle.

If O-rings are affected, I'll use silicon grease.

Bare metal gets Ballistol … although I wouldn't be afraid to apply Ballistol to O-rings either. Have used Ballistol for years to clean my barrels and it has never hurt th.e breech o-ring yet

Shalom

My gauge was soak :)

Great information so far and just in time.

My impact has developed a 25 bar overnight leak. That's just the kick'em while their down one. My propane tank that heats my house also has one. But much larger. It's empty coming into the coldest week of the year in our area so far.

So do I attack both with my dawn dish soap or should I order some of the spray that Bb recommends.

Thanks guys

I use a drop of soap in water and usually put it on sparingly with a Q-tip. Nothing wrong with buying the commercial product but I'm not so sure it's needed.

Leak is persistent. The factory may have over tighten the gauge too much. The delrin ring was compressed too much. Ernest made a comment in one of his video or master class that the factory seems to over tighten the gauge and may damage the block.

i will just replace it with rubber o-ring that came with the huma regulators. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Waiting game. The leak is gone, for now with rubber o rings.

Try flipping over the delrin washer seal to see if that’ll work. It worked on my wildcat, on the delrin seal under the air pressure release brass screw.

Hi, Thank you. The derlin is too damaged. I have a spare derlin from Yongheng compressor but it looks a little too big or that is normal. I can force it by screwing the gauge but i need more information on it.
