Sling on an HW97K ???

I've been kicking around the idea of putting a sling on our HW97K for quite a while now, but I haven't come up with what I think would be a decent way of going about it.

If I attach the front swivel to the cocking lever, as heavy as this gun is, I'm concerned about it causing problems with the lock up mechanism for it at the muzzle. So, that pretty much only leaves a side mount.

I actually kind of like the idea of a side mount, but where would be a good place to put the rear swivel so I don't end up getting the swivel and sling in my face every time I shoot it?

Any photos and advice from any of you who have installed a sling on an HW97K would be *greatly* appreciated.

Also, what experience have you had relating to accuracy / POI shifts that have come about as a result of installing a sling to this heavy Hun?

I’ve had a sling on my hw97k for the past 4 years and it is a huge help when hunting.

Don’t worry about attaching the sling mount to the cocking lever. Mine is mounted there and it works great. It has plenty of tension to remain in place and I’ve had zero trouble with accuracy. My rear swivel is on the bottom of the stock about 1.5-2” from the butt pad.

I have sling swivel on the cocking lever of my HW97. I only use it as a shooting sling, not for carrying. If I really tighten it on my arm I can pull the poi down almost a mil, but using reasonable tension it can help steady the kneeling and seated positions.

Thanks. I want it primarily for carrying. I learned the hard way with this rifle that I'm not twenty anymore!

Pete, a UK outfit makes sling plates for many airguns. If you carry your rifle muzzle down it mitigates any stress at the cocking arm. https://custom-sling-plates.myshopify.com/products/weihrauch?variant=41225221012
