Skout airguns , new and Improved?

New and improved but look like the same old junk.

Looks like a marshmallow launcher.

If the electronic trigger is anything like the one on the Red Wolf or most paintball guns, thats a deal breaker. They suck. Hopefully they've figured out a way to improve that.

Nice to see some new tech and a different approach though. Kudos for something kinda new at least.

I have a Red Wolf and the trigger, after careful adjustment on my part, is the best of any gun I have shot. I hear Red Wolf electronic triggers suck a lot, but I think that is because a lot of people just don't know how to adjust them to their liking.

Mine is a single stage with no take up and a break that is in ounces. That is the way I like it.

Even as set up from the factory, it was quite nice.

I ended up with mine set as a single stage too, in ounces. That's the best I could get it. It's a two stage trigger, and I'd expect to be able to keep it that way and it function as such.

Problem is, it was always too light to hunt with. And it always has creep that you couldn't remove. Because you can't adjust out the inherent travel inside the "button" that is the trigger.

I know how to adjust the trigger.

Yes, you can get it light enough to not be able to feel the creep, but what good is that?

Theres much more to a great trigger than getting it to break in ounces, to me at least.

Exactly!

Light triggers without a solid wall and THAT CRISP break are ok but are usually lacking compared to the better mechanical triggers. I've felt plenty of worse triggers than the E triggers in Daystate but there are definitely superior FEELING mechanical triggers in the guns I've had of both types, well except for the Morini E trigger on the pistol I had which was the best E trigger I've felt so far.

It's how the manufacturer goes about the design of the E trigger, can a superior feeling E trigger be made, Yes, are most made that way, No.

I emailed Skout last week and no return email back yet.

They better have something really special for near $3k

Whoa! That’s the first I’ve heard on the price tag. That makes it easier to pass on until it’s a proven shooter and realibale gun with readily available parts and service. I’d be looking at high-end Daystate or a high-end big bore for that type of money.

Likewise , that's the first I've heard of it.

I think that $2000-3000 range is simply the new norm for the flag ship models on the higher end of the quality/performance spectrum. Or at least of guns offered by companies with lots of investment into the venture.

Will be very interesting to see if Skout is going to fit in that higher end category.

Then there's the fact that the dollar is simply not worth what it used to be. Nearly every restaurant I drive by has signs saying $15-20 per hour, and that's not for any sort of management/leadership role, simply the starting wage. That wage is about double what I have in mind when I think of a fast-food worker's reasonable wage. Cost of living, inflation, etc, whatever you want to call it, the dollar is not what it used to be.
