SK-19 does not seem to like the new FX Hybrid slugs...

I took it out to the range today and put over 250 rounds of the .22 FX slugs through it. It was a very mild day weather wise, unseasonably warm like 60 degrees or so, the wind was light at 3-5mph constantly changing directions. First off the slugs don't fit in the magazine well and if they are not pressed in good the skirts jam the magazine when it is turned. But luckily I had my toothbrush with me. ;^) I used it as a pellet seat and it did an excellent job at getting the slug skirts flush with the magazine. Started out in the 1020fps area and slowly dialed it down a click at a time until I got near 830fps shooting five shot groups at first then three shots later on. Managed several 4 shot groups at about half an inch but then there is the flyer that makes it an inch or two larger every time and I was not able to repeat any of the tight four shot groups. So my choked LW barrel does not like the FX slugs and I will have to find something else in my collection to shoot them in.

Only decent groups of the three cards I shot like this are circled the 980fps on the top right, the middle one is the 870fps, but I was unable to duplicate either of them with the next few shots. You can see how things went by looking at just one card all three were pretty much the same. ;^( All shots are at 75 yards. But I did unload one magazine of JSB 18.13 pellets on the steel turkey at 150yards on full auto again right before I called it a day. ;^)
