Tuning Sizing Piston Seal

I chuck the piston up in a lathe and use 320 grit emory cloth backed with a file to apply pressure. A drill press will also work.

Problem you may run into is the seal will spin on the piston. Tape at the rear will prevent this, or a drop of super glue before the piston seal is installed.

I usually install them on the piston with some two part rubber epoxy, and put it in the lathe held concentric with the tailstock overnight. It's overkill, but I like them solid mounted and concentric from the start.

As for fit, remove some material, lube and test fit. I like them to slide in the compression chamber with one finger pressure. Nowhere near a free fall, and not a firm thumbs worth of drag. Just a smooth one finger push. Obviously not very scientific

Too tight is better than too loose if you have any doubt. Worst case is it costs a tiny bit of power, and increases temp sensitivity.
