For the first time in 40 tins of HN FTT .22 pellets I am getting under size and poorly formed pellets. These are the 5.54 /.218 diameter pellets. In a tin of 500 last week I had three drop down the barrel and stick in the choke of my D34. I had to tap them out with a cleaning rod. Sixty some others fit loosely in the breech with no engraving at all. Naturally they flew with no accuracy at all. I ended up carefully extracting the loose ones with a drywall screw inserted into the skirt. About 65 rejects in that tin.
Today I opened another tin and had the same problems with a few right away. I measured several bad ones and had sizes ranging from 5.46 /.215 to 5.38 /.212, it was the .212's that stuck in the choke. I pulled out my Teslong bore scope for an up close comparison photo of a good .218 pellet on the left and a .212 poorly formed pellet head on the right. I have 10 tins of this lot number on hand.
Anyone else having this problem?
