Since everyone is looking for the best bang for the buck in optics

Some of you will laugh this off. Others, if smart, will give it a try.

The Barska Swat IR 6-24x44 second focal plane scope.

I bought one of these over 10 years ago. Mounted it to an Anschutz MPR 17HMR. Back then I paid 179.00. I was amazed by the sharpness and clarity, The scope even tracked perfectly. I took a lot of flack over on the rimfire forum for daring to give such a scope a decent review. That is, until a few people tried them. You will find that the optics are every bit as good or better than HAWKE Sidewinders, for less than half the price. This scope is superbly SHARP and contrasty. Focuses 10 to infinity. Fast forward 10 or 12 years, the gun sits on my Anschutz 64ms which is a surgically accurate rimfire. Today the Swat IR has locking turrets. Which is a feature that I'm rather fond of. Mine does not have this feature. Over the many years this scope has functioned flawlessly. I am always amazed when I look through it at how good the optics are for such a low priced budget scope. I would take this scope over the Aztec any day of the week. It has an illuminated glass etched mildot reticle and 1/8 moa adjustment. You get this at 300.00 less than comparable Aztec and Hawke. The one thing I left out is that the rings that come with the scope are pieces of crap. You will need a decent set of 30mm rings.

Don't knock it until you try it.
