Silent Thunder Ordnance

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. I am getting a .25 impact. If you had to get one now, is that what you would you get or do you have another recommendation

Thanks, Bob

Sorry for the delay. I actually have a Pilum in addition to the Gladius and yes I would have no problem buying either of them again as they werq very well and are very lightweight.

Anyone have their baffle insert for the Leshiy classic? If so is it substantially better than the stock baffle?

I have one. Haven't used it much above 25 FPE & never with the longer barrel, at least not yet.

I do like it better than the stock moderator in 25 & 22. In 177 I prefer the CCD insert from the UK.

I'm not sure I've ever compared the stock one to the STO in 177, however.

I do like that with the STO it's easy to check for dust build up, clipping or any other sign of damage. And the foam inserts can be replaced. With the enclosed inserts like the CCD & the Akula that's not as convenient.

I have several of the STO's. Light and quiet. And, cheaper than a few of the others available. I'm going to test the new one I have tomorrow and see if it quiets down my EVOL 30 as well as my Neil Clague does.

The other newest one will be on my Delta Wolf .25..... The Donny is very quiet and the Falx will have to really do its stuff. We'll see.

This darn thread made me order another STO, lol. I now have a Sarissa on the way to see just how quite I can make the Maverick at real high power :D

Its wicked quiet...lol!

It's really amazing quiet, I think you're in for a treat

I already have the Falx high flow, which I love. I'm curious to see how the Sarissa high flow handles 130 fpe in .30, hahaha!

If your experience is like mine, size for size, the Donny won't have a chance ;) That is, assuming you got the right flow rate version for the gun it will be used on. I always need the high flow, since I push every caliber as hard as I can.

Crusher,

Let me know how you like it on the EVOL 30. I have a Shogun on my EVOL 30 now. It works pretty well, still a bit noisy indoors. I have the STO insert in the EVOL 22. It is my only STO experience but I like the lower tone.

Which model STO will you be using on your EVOL 30? I was thinking for indoor shooting I might go with the large Sarissa or the lighter version of that length, the Accipiter.

I've had some time to play around with the Sarissa high flow at many different power levels now. It has not disappointed. I've used the same one for every caliber, and that thing is QUIET. My Maverick is still backyard friendly at 130+ fpe in .30! Well, the report of the gun is. The bullet hitting something at that power, not so much :D At every power level I've tested, it is crazy quiet. The Sarissa is not small, but if you really want the quietest option, I don't see any other moderator at that size/weight that can do better, IMO. I've seen no accuracy changes with it either. I'm pretty sure, STO are the only moderators I'll ever use on a shrouded gun.

Just make sure you don't need the high flow, because the accipiter doesn't come in high flow ;)

Thanks, saw that. I just emailed them to see if they make small bore versions because the smallest bore seems to be 7.4mm which is the standard flow. I actually want ultra low flow because I'm trying to make my low powered 177 basically silent. I have an emperor but the bore is too big (.25-.30) so it's actually less effective than the .22 sumo.
