Silent Thunder Ordnance

I have used the Gladius CF moderator on my .25 impact at 74fpe for thousands of rounds without a problem. But I know a couple of others that had trouble with their carbon fiber models. Although I am aware that most had no problems.

The Gladius was a bit quieter than the stock FX units but it lowered the tone of the report so it was more mellow. Making it sound more quiet than it really was. Perception is everything when it comes to sound.

I think he makes a decent product on par with the better units around. So long as you choose one that is useful for the gun and the power it is putting out I expect you will be pleased with it.

I have an STO Falx that lives on my Maverick. I've found that the STO really shines on shrouded guns like the FX. When I compared it to my much loved Huma on a bare barreled gun, the Huma was the winner. I was shocked when I tried it on my Maverick though. It completely changed my opinion of it, and works much better than it should for the size. I have the High Flow version, and it does great at all power levels. I run my gun over 80 fpe in .22 and over 130 fpe in .30 sometimes, but the little Falx still does it's job without complaint! I use that same moderator for .177 through .30 and it works. It's nice, because I just keep one moderator for all calibers in the case. I HIGHLY recommend the STO, especially on a gun with a shrouded barrel!

Seriously, I've owned a lot of moderators. I've always ran my guns very hot, so my moderators usually get a proper test of their abilities. I know a lot of folks prefer the very popular moderators from another manufacturer, but those don't compare in the sound department with my testing. The two top ones in my book are the Huma and STO. I like the Huma for the flexibility/sound reduction, and the STO for the reasons already listed. The STO is the best moderator of it's size I've ever tested. I too, also like the lower tone it generates. After shooting a lot with the STO, every other moderator I use after it sounds much higher pitched to my ears. My Maverick is my favorite gun, and the STO stays on that gun all the time. That should say something. I say just get the high flow version and don't look back ;) I would love to test out a Sarissa some day...

I can't speak about ordering from Huma.....but I've ordered stuff from a few places (in the EU), using paypal. Paypal charges an additional fee to the buyer, for the conversion (I think it was around 50 cents on a ~50USD order....but I could be wrong). And I think their terms were recently updated....so it has probably increased too. Googling USD to Euro will give you the current conversion factor (and a calculator to type in the amount exactly).

I've three STO Falix, medium flow, 1 on a Gladius .177, SK19 in .22 and a K1 in.25, my go to moderators. I think you'll be happy with them. I'm setting up a K1 in .177 bought a Huma 40 from Trenier to try. I would like to try STO Sarissa, You'll be pleased with it, no appreciable change of POI, solid construction and good looking. Function over form, can't stand those designer moderators with swirls and such.

I can let you know tomorrow - the gun was just delivered this afternoon.

I can say that dry firing in the garage was LOUD with no moderator, was quieter with the provided FX by DFL moderator, and was much quieter with the FALX.

I can run my .22 Compact with no moderator at all, and still get follow-up shots. Don't think that will be the case with the .30!
