I'm looking hard at the  Sightron S TAC 3-16×42 for my Walther LGV 12 fpe springer. I'm currently using a SWFA 16 power and like it very much. The SS holds zero and is bullet proof but a 3-16 would come in handy. Anyone with any experience with the  Sightron S TAC 3-16×42 please comment, the good the bad and the ugly.

Charlie at Georgia airguns says he likes them alot. You can read his review on his website.

Thanks for the tip of checking Charlie's review. I have SIII's on my Crown and R500 and love them both. I was seriously wanting to upgrade the scope on my Wildcat and now I'm really liking the looks of the 4-20X50. Seems to be a great price as well.

A couple of guys at my shooting club have bought them – very good value for money. They have the 4-20 variety.

Glass is quite close to the S3 as far as I could see without having them side to side – not quite as good but a lot better than say, a Hawke Sidewinder, especially at higher mag.

Apparently the adjustments are not quite as reliable as the S3, particularly at the extremes of adjustment range, but most of us wouldn't push any scope to the edge regardless of price point. The popularity of adjustable rings is testament to airgunners learning that lesson a while ago ?

All in all very good scopes and a good match for a higher end rifle

Thanks for the feedback gang, and with what Charlie at Georgia airguns said I think I'll go ahead and get one.

I ordered the 4-20X50 from Charlie yesterday. Really excited to see the performance of this other series of Sightrons. He was basically heading out the door for a week of vacation so it'll ship when he gets back. I understand and don't blame him.

Jimmy let me know what you think when you get it. I might go with the 4-20X50.
