Sightron S III 10-50×60 mil hash question

Anyone have the mil hash reticle in this scope? my question is this. Are the hash marks close enough together that the hash marks can be used for zeros at different ranges? I have a Sightron big sky and like it. but with the crosshairs sighted in for 30 yards the first mil dot is my 55 yard mark. the yardages in-between I have to split the crosshair and the first dot. while this works ok. its still a little guess work. So are the hash marks on the FT scope any closer together?

thanks, Jim

I have had one, but sold it because of a upgrade. Mighthy fine scopes for sure.

The MH reticle has got half mil hashes, so twice as many as a regular mil dot reticle.

But because it is a second focal plane scope calibrated at 24x, it all depends on which power you are going to use it.

At 12x, a half mil hash will represent a mil

At 48x, a half mil hash wil represent a quarter mil, so 4 hashes will represent a mil at that power.

I only use mil/mil scopes these days, it makes life a lot easier.

10-50x60LRIRMH is THE way to go for the big S3?

Good luck with your choice, you can't go wrong with a S3 IMO.

Cheers,

Gijs

P.s. the LRIRMH and FT use the same reticle, the silhouette reticle is also the same, but the target dot is 3cm/100m i.s.o. 7.3mm/100m at 24x.

Attached is a handy sheet to see the spacing of all powers of the S3 mil hash reticle.
