Sig Sauer .22 results

Here’s the way it went. 31 yds and the aim point was the bottom hole. Gun is sighted in at 50 so knew it would be high. Slight wind left to right. My thinking– shot 1-ok is about right. Shot 2-it looks like it might be in the same hole. Shot 3- very small hole, maybe They are going somewhere else. Better line up on the 3 shots to check. Shot 4- high and about where the others were with the old aim point. So go on to 7 more using the old aim point. Shots 4-7 almost same hole but the shade is starting to cover my aim point hole. Having to line up as best as I can on the hole. Shots 8-10 started to spread . Shot 10 is the bottom hole in the group. Measure it old man.
Total outside to outside 5/8 or .625 less .22 pellet size= .40. Drop shot 10 and it is ½ or .50 less .22 pellet size= .28. Holy Moly– Thank you Lord. Don’t even ask what I think about this Sig Sauer .22. Have about 200 through it. Using AA 16gr and Discovery 6-24x50 set on 16 mag.

GBGUNNER--Yes it was and you will not be disappointed. I told my wife-- I just can't make this gun shoot bad-- and it sure makes an 81 year old happy. Good luck with yours.

I also saw on one of these forums that a good seating "tool" is a 3.5mm Stereo Jack to 1/4" Stereo Plug Adapter which I got on Amazon for about $3.50. It fits the .22 pellets just right and seats them even. Started using it a few days ago with good results.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00142BZSY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

How deep are you seating them Don ? I read where seating them to far into the bore results is some harsh vibration caused from a little piston slam. What does deep seating them do to velocity?

I don't call it deep seating at all. The "tool" just seats them the same each time and that is just like doing it with my finger with a good pressing. It stops without going into the breech and my finger sure feels better. Before I ordered it I figured that for $3.50 it was surely worth a try. I don't need it for seating as much as I wanted to try to get the same thing going at every stage to help with my lack of ability in accurate shooting. I just enjoy competing against myself. I have not use the chrony lately but am using 800 fps with the AA 16 gr. on chairgun for reference and it is very close. I add and subtract 25 fps to see what the difference is and using 775 and 825 chairgun only shows a 1/4" spread. Its all fun and games for me.

That is the way I seat mine as well. After looking at the link you posted I am going to modify the one I made from aluminum. This is it now.

Credit goes to someone else. I am just passing the info along. BTW-- have any of you replaced the rear trigger guard screw? I got my replacement from Sig but have not replaced it yet. Was waiting to see if someone did and if Sig advised using any thing to hold it. It is shooting so good I sure don't want to fix it if ain"t broke.

My serial number is 249. I plan on calling Sig and getting the replacement screw. From what I gather, it's just longer than the original. You could apply a dab of wood glue but I probably wouldn't do it. The rear screw has no function in holding the action into the stock. That is the job of the front trigger guard machine thread screw.
