Got caught in the rain with my sig asp. Want to dry out action. Has anyone taken their stock off and know how?

I was going to remove the stock from mine and realized that components of the trigger linkage prevented it from easy removal.

I sent this message to Sig Sauer. I will post their reply.
" I know someone who has a ASP20 and it got wet being outdoors in the rain. He wants to remove the stock but was having problems with it's removal. It seems it's removal is not as easy as just removing the two trigger guard and two forearm screws. I think it might have something to do with the trigger linkage that prevents it's easy removal? Is that correct ? "

Take off the stock, void the warranty? I'm following this thread, love to hear what Sig says.

To void a warranty based on stock removal is ludicrous. Unless of course it requires more than removing one wood screw and three machine screws.

Well known FT competitor Hector Medina's Blog soured me(pardon the pun) on the Sig. According to Hector, you void the warranty if you do anything to the gun other than adjusting the trigger. Sig reportedly will not make available any parts, drawings or explanations of function.

Got the reply from Sig. Customer service has been excellent ! I remember now those safety slides were an issue when I was going to remove the stock. I could see the safety slides moving when I tried to remove the stock. I didn't feel like hassling with removing the slides so I just Loctite'd my three fasteners and torqued them out. Looks like taking the stock off will NOT void the warranty.

To remove the stock on the ASP20, your friend will have to remove the two forestock screws, the front trigger guard screw only (leave the back one in and the trigger guard will stay attached to the stock). He will also have to remove the safety slides on both sides. When reinstalling, the safety slides can only go on their correct side, as they are not interchangeable right to left.
