Side-Shot

I've been looking at the sideshot as well, thinking I might get one but I'm a little undecided...
I really like that I could use it to record at competitions like FT which would be really nice and hunting on the side.
And really compared to the other nice options the pre order price is pretty darn fair.
I'm thinking I'll probably end up doing it just trying to talk myself out of it right now.......

Well my Side Shot came in yesterday. I thought I would post up some initial thoughts. By no means do I have everything camera wise adjusted to the way I want it.
Looks like a very adjustable device. It is pretty well made. The scope ring and bars are aluminum. The phone holder and eyepiece is plastic except the screws. I'm sure this is to save weight. I see no reason to crank down on anything and break it, as the phone is secured well. The knob on the rear just touches the battery cover on my Argos BTR. I just removed the cover to clear it. I will have to try it on some other brand scopes. Wish I could get a total of three other scope mounts when available.
The learning curve is adjusting the settings to my phone camera. The scope and camera does not like the auto adjustments. When in auto the target is too bight and auto off it is darker. I think this can easily be adjusted with some iso settings. Also looking through the camera it is a mirror image, so if I'm looking at the right target, it shows the left.
Overall I think this will help me in watching pellet flight in slow motion, to detect shooting issues.

When I email them about a month ago asking for price for additional scope clamps I got this reply "We expect to have a price on additional scope clamps from our manufacturer this coming week. We've built many of them but to bring prices down (they are all CNC machined out of a block of aluminum expensive to build)". So looks like only the scope clamps are CNC from aluminium. Now knowing scope cam is made out of plastic I'm hoping it won't crack under heavy recoil.

Sorry I didn't mention the 30mm clamp is aluminum. I will correct that above, and add a picture. The bars that slide in are also aluminum. It is very smooth.
