Side-Shot GP Hero7 Vs Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-RX100 Vs iPhone X

go-pro hero is the best for slow motion imo at 240 fps... when set up correctly.

The Sony MKV is amazing for slow motion but only allows a few seconds of recording, or you can risk losing your shot.. Ive done this more than a few times..

The iPhone is great , but for slow motion, your shots will be really shaky and most times you won't be able to see the pellet track.

Keep in mind that with slow motion recording at 240 fps or more, you will need a lot of light...

If you don't care about slow motion, than you cannot go wrong with either of those option..

hope that helps..

This is really helpful. I’ve been trying to decide what to use. Tried the iPhone 7 and 11. But pellet in flight isn’t possible with either. The go pro 7 seems to be the way to go. Have you used the eagle vision lenses on the go pro and their 75/25 prism ? I hear that’s good for slow mo.

I have used i-phone 11 and X for slow motion, duct tape and shims help stabilize the floppy side-shot phone mount.. still not as good as the go-pro,

I have not used the eagle vision lens, I have tried the backbone and the peau-pro lens.

The eagle vision 75/25 should let in more light but i have not personally tried it.. as i am happy with quality of my videos and I like that if I move the go-pro from one gun to another I don't have to look at the video or go-pro app to re-adjust picture quality just move the mount and re tighten the bolts..

Keep in mind that there is little information on setting of the go-pro camera for picture quality, and even some of the advise on this and other forums will not particularly work for your purposes. Lighting in my yard, or hunting area is more than likely different than your environment..

i would download the go-pro app.. get a picture to your phone or tablet and play with focus ring and lens, and eyepiece adjustment first.. not just the go-pro lens. also play with all the different iso, brightness, shutter and color setting until you find one that works for you.

Be prepared to spend hours playing with settings.

Once you find the sweet spot, its easy and you will learn to adjust setting for shade or full sun very easily..

Hope that helps, have fun with it..
