"Show off" your Leshiy thread

Here is my baby. Huma regulator, Wika analog gauge, March 1-10 illuminated scope. Nightforce rings with bubble level. 350mm .25 cal. Two stage trigger kit. Amazingly accurate and easy to through in the back seat of the Jeep and head out for a little fun:)

This one belongs to my friend Otis...you will notice he has a 10-50x60 Sightron and a Rowen Engineering hamster on it, because he now uses it exclusively for his Field Target competitions rather than his Thomas or his AirArms FTP 900...and you will also notice the additional air tank which also serves as a cheek rest.

All the best, Chuck

This looks like a good combo for April FT.👌😁

Wa wa what?! Are you kidding me? That looks insane! I'd be curious to hear more about the trigger on this FT gun.

P.S. when I first met Otis he was shooting an Airforce condor in 177 but he could never get the accuracy he wanted. So I convinced him to buy an FTP 900 which improved his shooting a lot, but he actually shot better with his cricket .177. At about that time I told him about the Thomas rifles and of course he bought one, but he says he does much much better with is Ed Gun Leshiy than he does with his Thomas.

You know something I just realized? I bet Ed would get a kick out of seeing one of his Leshiy's being used for Pro Field Target Competition!😁

This is fascinating. Is Otis a Member here? I'd love to hear more about it:

  • Why 250mm over 350mm barrel?
  • Trigger work?
  • Regulator type & pressure?
  • Pellet?
  • Velocity?
  • Adapter from Rowan hamster to picatinny rail

I would also be very interested in the why a 250mm barrel over 350mm? The Leshiy really wants to move around when fired with the 250mm barrel. This makes me wonder what did he do to tame that down?

My guess is it’s sub 12 ft lbs for WFTF in .177

Michael, I will contact Otis and ask his permission to pass you his phone number, rather than try to be a go between...that way you can ask him about all this stuff yourself. I can answer a couple of your questions though...he has always favored the AirArms 8.4 grain pellets but I am not sure if he is using them in his Leshiy; the velocity has to be just under 12 ft lbs for his Field Target Competitions; his "side wheel" for ranging targets, the "wind indicator", and his "hamster" are from Rowan Engineering in the UK; the picatinny rail under the Sightron is merely a UTG adapter/riser that lifts the scope up higher...the purpose of that is so he can shoot using a "heads up" position with neck and head straight up rather than cocked over on his shoulder. (...which is the way I shoot also). I think he is going to the big meet in Baton Rouge, LA October 4-6...so if you are going there too just look for a tall handsome black dude with a gold Leshiy and that will be my brother Otis! 😁

All the best, Chuck

What position does he use to keep the barrel over the line and trigger behind? Shooting a National's course he's going to have a hard time not getting DQ'd without favor.
