Purchased a scope from PA, had problems with it after 60 days, sent scope to manufacturer and they are replacing it.

Recieved an email from the manufacturer saying that a new scope was being sent to me, and that there was a 20.00 upgrade charge. I called them to take care of the upgrade charge and they said it had already been taken care of....they had my card# on file.
Wait....WHAT? HOW? I never gave them my card info. Where did they get it from?

Pyramyd Air? Can they share my card info? Cuz they must have. Where else could Leapers have gotten it from ? I'm a little uptight about this. I'll pay the phucking 20 bucks....but don't be spreading my debit card number all over the G-D country!!! 

Am I freaking out over nothing or is this not cool?
 
I'm a pretty stable guy ...OK Semi-Stable ....I'd be upset at the " Up Charge " as well . That kind of lil Chicken poop nickle and dime crap would have made me go OFF !! The optics business is a high margin business and to charge Anything is just plain Bullpoop. 
There are WAY too many companies to choose from who actually care about Customer Service to send my money to one that doesnt . Leapers and PA both owe you an apology and a refund for the " Up Charge"

Ok so here's what I learned. Upon filling out the warranty claim I was asked where I bought it from and to produce a reciept. The reciept has an order #, and when Leapers contacted PA to confirm then PA sends them the entire file ...... which apparently includes your payment information.
So I guess since PA is an authorized dealer of UTG then UTG has a right to request all sales account data.

Kinda scary, and I don't like it, but I guess they are legally allowed that info. It still ain't cool, but I betcha if I refuse the charge through my bank then I will never be able to do another warranty claim via UTG or Pyramyd Air in the future.

Dickheads they all are.

"fishinwrench"I'm glad I have some backup here, occasionally I fly off the handle for nothing and I know I have a hair trigger right now because our fish and game department just decided that they need SSN# for freaking fishing/hunting permits and that set me off like a bottle rocket.

Who has the right to request your SSN? Federal law mandates that state Departments of Motor Vehicles, tax authorities, welfare offices, and other governmental agencies request your SS number as proof that you are who you claim to be. However, the Privacy Act of 1974 requires that government agencies at the local, state, and federal level disclose to each person whether submitting your Social Security number is required, details on the use of this information, and what law or authority requires its use.Please note that this Act stipulates that no one can deny you a government service or benefit for failing to provide your SSN unless federal law specifically requires it.

Our Conservation Dept. gets a .008% of sales tax on every dollar spent in the state (on ANYTHING). Which would be GREAT for hunters and fishermen if not for the fact that they piss away money like it's going out of style on lame ass projects like studying beetles and invasive plant life, ect. They employ more "biologists" than they do field agents.

My guess is that the fed wants to know how much they are raking in on permits, and they also probably want to know how many "hunters" we have in the state. So therefore they have supposedly demanded SS# on everyone who puchases a permit.

Our Conservation Dept. is also in bed with Child Support enforcement and will suspend a person's hunting/fishing "priveledge" if they get behind on child support.

Fish, Trust Kristen to take care of this. I believe what she says. Her and the the remainder of the Pyramyd Air Cup crew do a great job at their event and I have met all of them. She will get to the bottom of this issue. I was going to refer you to PA customer service until I saw Kristen had jumped right on it. 

I have NO affiliation with Pyramyd other than a customer.

Recieved a package from UTG today, but instead of replacing my 3-9x32AO they sent a friggin' 4-16X56 MONSTER that I can't even use.
I'm done jacking with them and I don't even feel like calling them to try and sort this crap out. Obviously they aren't even paying attention to what they are doing.

Does anyone want to buy this giant POS for the price of a 3-9X32AO 1" scope? And then I'll just order another one from PA.

What a nightmare!
