Shot my.257 today 1MOA @100yd about 180fpe

Well its been a long time since I had this out of the safe , I fitted it with an Arken 4-16x50 34mm mil scope I put a hunters supply 40moa rail , I grabbed a bunch of my 85 grain slugs they going around 1010 fps

Here is my first 3 shot group , I dont shoot this much here as it carries a long long way , Id love to take this coyote or pig hunting , I am running a 28 inch slug barrel I have mounted an Lucifer 1000cc tank so I get over 30 shots at 200fpe , great power house and it is as quiet as any other pcp gun , the noise comes with the impact ,even shooting a steel frying pan at 250 yards it is extremely powerful with solid slugs

Mercedo this onee I am using a 1.8 spring , a 118 gr weight , a fluted breech , an angled Extreme valve good for 3650psi to 2400 psi , it is running a 28 inch barrel , and I make slugs 128 gr to 73 gr ,

I can swap out barrel to my .22 slug barrel 28 inched and get 150plus gr , with 69 gr slugs ,

But gun is a long gun not real practical for daily carrying ot hunting but it can sure hang with the big bores

Thanks..LOU..I have all my casting equipment..the only thing missing is the lead .. how should I order the lead from roto metal ? What number combination..? Have more than 35 molds between .223 -- .257 -- 308 collecting dust....yup those guns are long .. but after shooting mine I knew I needed to build another in .223 it was difficult to find a 1-12 twist liner if it wasn't because tj found a mandrel he wasn't using in a long time .. I could not make it because there is no other barrel affordable in 1-12 twist.....the rest of the barrel companies that sell the 1-12 bartlein or criguer are 1 1/8 thick n if you asked the company to reduce to 1" that is like another $150 so the barrel without being machined to fit is $600 + shipping I imagine that by the time is machined you are in tha barrel only $950 ..I found a machinists here tha do my tj liner at only $125 including the tread for a ldc ... I recently finish a 1-22 .25 liner 18"1/2 long it shoot awesome for close hunting..

HI MTN , my dope is 5,3 mil hold over @200 yd and it is hitting at 130fpe@200 yd

HI merc get 95 percent lead 5percent tin you can get bars I buy enough for free shipping usually , ebay is cheaper if u can find honest resellers , I have alot of molds which dont work well yes , I think everyone who casts says this

Barrels , I have built my own from LW and green mountain blanks , I also used airgun haven to do a few , they did great work , I think rhw blanks cost $130 plus time and tooling ,

when I had Airgun haven do a slug barrel for Taipan the polished it cut lead in for slugs , threaded muzzle 1/2 20 , then threaded breech 14mm , and charged like $280 including barrel ,

SO wow TJ is way off , while 1 1/8 is a bull barrel too heavy for pcp hunting guns I usually use .,500 ,600 max for airguns

I will send out work if I have to cut an od entire barrel as my lathe is only 7x12 so a 24 inch would have to be dont 1/2 at a time and it is not made for it ,Last time I uses a 12x31 lathe and the finish was superb

5.3 is damn good!!!!!!! I'm jealous hahaha!

So you're putting a bull barrel on it?

me no the guy

mercado

asked about barrels above he said the TJ barrel if milled down and machines would cost like $900 I was trying to say this is crazy for an airgun , Most expensive pcp one I got is about $350 tht I didnt machine

I am currently all set with barrels I got 3 for this gun and about 3 unused blanks and many edgun barrels .

Next barrel I buy will be a Proof Research Carbon fibre 24" 1-8 Twist for my Ruger Precision Rifle

I'm sorry I think I wrote something wrong...what I tried to say is that if it wasn't by him tj liners I wouldn't be able to finish my .223 protect dealing with him was great..he even take the time to look for the mandrel in 1-12 that he had stored in his shop..really affordable liner 30 "1/2 -'$165 ..he even shipped to PR....will purchase a few more soon.....I was looking at bartlein barrels -- and other like that one first to purchase a bull barrel to have it machined that when I found how expensive it was to machine a bull barrel for a pcp ... it certainly has it advantage as seen in the 338 air pua .. no barrel whip almost no harmonic to deal with...if you se there are rifle manufacturers who are integrating 2" think bull barrels especially machined to reduce weight but the result are the same almost no harmonic changes..there is a guy shooting 1000y with airforce guns he was the first I se to use a 1" thick barrel in a condor...thanks for the tip on the lead..

I like heavy barrels they dont heat up as much < and they way more accurate with no whip , so for bench they best ,

I am a hunter though so I want light and accurate and mostly durable meaning if knocked around holds zero ,and I like quiet for privacy

do you hunt or bench rest with it ,??? I have saw 1 other .338 and his had a custom barrel was a monster like 400fpe

I don't know TJ what is OD diameter in a TJ barrel ,

LOU

I don't hunt..mostly recreational long range shootin..tj barrel diameter is 9/16 .. the tj in my condor .257 is 29 "1/2 ... it shoot great even when it still not carbon sleeved..it likes almost anything I have tried...257-420 ... 257-388 ... 257-463...92g noble hunter supply 87 g ..I have the 257-420...257-388...257-418...257-283...257-382. 257-463...257-464...257-312 from the 312 4 completely different molds including one BBM iron from 80g up to 94g ...n one cavity 257-385 ...those are ols Lyman molds..will buy later a few from arcenal....here mos PB gun range tops at 300y ... not every body has access to the 1000y ..PB ranges...they are all military ranges ..so my PB collection will be limited..?

here hunting ranges are only 100 yd , I went to a friends farm to shoot , but my plan is to move from here and make a 1500 yd range , I see you mentioned hunters supply , I was at his place last year , Great people he has a 1200 yard shooting range in his yard he built in New Mexico , I plan on going back when virus lifts , He said there's a ranch near him for sale maybe when virus lifts I can possibly relocate there plus taxes for 1 yr is less then what I pay for 1 month here
