Shooting Stand - I have always wanted one of these.

I have been eyeing these for over a year. Finally broke down. The idea of swinging side to side blasting vermin is too enticing. :)

I'll offer an official review once the summer is over.

It is called the Caldwell Stable Table. Every time I saw it in a sporting goods store, it was $250. But, Amazon currently has it for $179.99, so I couldn't resist. There is a deluxe version with a wood table ($450), but I opted to simply spray the [inexpensive] plastic table version with a bit of plasti-dip to give it some much-need "stick". Seems to be working they way I wanted, so far. Good stickiness (so, the bipod won't slip) and it adhered to the table well. I even went so far as to buy the carrying case, with it. I plan to keep it in the back of my truck most of the time. It sets up in about 5 min, and weighs around 60lbs.

"Rocky_in_TX"I got one point I would like to bring up on these. I have one that is basically the same set up tripod legs, attached seat, rotates. I agree, I think it would be great for shooting vermin or fun targets, where you could rotate and shoot. Now, the serious question, I have tried to use this for some pellet on pellet style of target shooting and I swear, I can see my heart beat in the scope and it's coming from my butt cheeks sitting on the attached seat!

Am I the only one who seems to carry my arterial pump, in my rump?
No, I notice the same using the Caldwell Stable Table. When using my wood bench it doesn't exist.

How can any serious question contain the words "butt cheeks"? LOL

I actually thought this may be an issue (especially if it was hot out), so I ordered a "buffer" in the same shipment.

Nice Ted! I can't wait to see your review and watch you use this setup for hunting critters.

I bought a Bog Pod tripod with the shooting rest option for backyard shooting with my family. I may try it for hunting some time. Bob

Hey Ted
Mine has served me well. But I think as some others-- the table is fine for dispatching Critters but has an inherent Flaw in that the seat is directly connected to the table. Also that the top is made of plastic -- diminishing stability even more.
i have seen a site that sells the table with what appears to be a butcher block wooden top?
anyway I still use mine on occasion -- but that's why I went with the cement table. I really want stability for benchrest practice
enjoy
