Shooting slugs in the RAW .25 cal poly

Has anybody had any luck with shooting slugs in the RAW .25 poly? If so, what kind of slugs are you using and what diameter are they? I am starting to push the envelope on distance 100 to 250 yards. I've heard that the slugs are better at the longer ranges than the pellets--no skirt, better bc, etc. etc.. Haven't found much on the .25 cal. and nothing on Martins .25 cal. poly. Thanks.

I've shot a lot of Varmint Knockers, Rat Sniper and Nielsen slugs through my RAW. I'd start with the NSA 29gr at between 920-960fps. They're .249" You might have to turn up your regulator and hammer spring to achieve these velocities depending where your gun is set up. If you don't want to do that with your gun, give the 26.8gr a try. It's also a .249"

Nick sells a sample pack with the 26.8, 29, 29.5, 33.5, 36.2 and 38.5 grain. I think it's $19 for 35 of each weight.

Good luck! Stoti

I had the best luck with 39gr NSAs, but it was too much of a nightmare to tune the regulator for different ammo.

I have experimented with about everything offered through my RAW, including the latest NSA offerings. At 50 yards most shoot close to the 33.95 King Heavy pellets. At 100 yards, the NSA 39 shot as well as the King Heavy pellets did, but not any better. Everything else tried was a failure. Over a couple of hundred dollars later, it is all pellets for me from here on out.

Thanks for all the input. I guess to start I'll try the nsa pellets and see just what happens. It's going to be a bit of a problem shooting one gun on the same day unless there is enough adjustment for velocity. Has anybody actually shot the king heavy and the nsa, (similar weight), slugs at 150 to 250 yards at 900 to 940 fps from the same gun on the same day?
