Shooting pellets with bent skirts - video

Good info. here. I was not expecting those results.👍

Maybe not so good.

I got in an order of .20 cal, H&N FTT from PA today so ... I took 20 out of the a new tin and bent the skirts with pliers. Then I shot two 10 shot groups each with the new pellets and the bent pellets. The rifle was an HW98. That might account for the different results.

I am not going to call bullsh1t on this video but these were shot at 750 fps out of a spring rifle. The bent pellets are on the left. Rather than call BS, I'm going to take the position that he did not shoot far enough to get a good test. It would certainly seem to me that he should have seen much worse results at 50 than he did but ... anyway.

This is what I got and I'm going with my reality not his.

I wanted to add that I've been shooting H&N pellets exclusively for a couple mo.(not in competition though) and have found that overall the H&N pellets are much more uniform overall especially the skirts. But the lead is quite a bit harder and skirts much thicker than JSB's.

In a 20ftlb rifle the bent skirts do seem to produce fliers, I never thought I would use these in competition? but I'm going to sort out the bent skirts and shoot them next 25m match.

I've had a poor start to the season so It doesn't concern me any! also have ran out of the JSB's that my gun prefers...

Which brings up another note they don't seem to have such a variance from lot to lot like the JSB's do!
