Shooting Nespresso Coffee Capsules in Slow Motion

It's a shame we have to sacrifice resolution for the higher frame rate..."taking a page from Ted's book" I have found that the 120 or 240 fpm are your best option and use editing software to slow things even more. By the way, what is this new fangled coffee capsule BS? In my world, I would have to post a video, blowing holes in my old percolator. :)

I'm glad you guys enjoyed the video. I was shooting the pods about 60-65 yards out. The damn AZ desert really throws off the heat waves as you guys can see, It plays havoc on the sharpness of the video. I also filmed at 240fps and 120fps but found the impact to be much less dramatic than at the higher frame rate. I only have the free Microsoft Video software which lacks the features to slow down the video. I believe YouTube has a feature like that for editing posted videos but I couldn't make it work for me. I will try shooting some more but earlier in the morning before things start heating up. I'll also include some additional reactive targets such as chalk and bbq briquettes.

The new fangled coffee capsules are the best thing since Costco pretzel rolls! The capsules are made of aluminum by Nespresso for their Nespresso coffee (espresso) machines. It's the highest pressure non-professional machine on the market and pumps out 19 bar of pressurized steam which makes the best cope of coffee I have found. I'm such a dweeb knowing this stuff but some products are just so extraordinary they are worth the mention,

Looks like fun Scott, you do not realize how much the PCP guns jump when you shoot them, until you watch a video through the scope. I had no idea they jumped that much, compared to springers they feel like they have little or no kick to them. Good video, it is always good to watch videos taken through the scope, they often show how the pellets dip and I get a real kick out of the videos that show how some pellets spiral, I really would like to know what causes that. I have seen a few of mine spiral when looking through the scope, what amazed me is they hit what I aimed at!, I would have thought the POI would be well off the aim point. You learn something new every day, Neil.

This is brilliant. I'm assuming what these are are the cups for a Keurig machine, or otherwise called K-Cups?

I have a Keurig and have just been WASTING valuable targets! I didn't even think about the grounds left in them making for a visually stimulating shooting session. Very cool.

It it is a shame that you lose so much clarity when shooting at such high frame rates, but like you said, that desert heat didn't help things in the SLIGHTEST

The capsules are actually made by Nespresso for their Nespresso line of coffee/espresso machines. The capsules are made of aluminum and measure 30mm tall. The Keurig capsules/cups would also make a great reactive target so go for it. You certainly lose clarity and resolution when filming at 480 fps or higher.
