Shooting JSB 33.95gr in a stock marauder?

I have a stock Marauder.25 cal and she loves the JSB 25gr, however, i have a bunch of the heavier JSB 33,95gr that is left from my Hatsan BT65 i sold some years ago with much regrets so i am thinking about get another one, but could my marauder shoot these in stock config, or are they to heavy? My max distance i can shoot at is 50 meters, i know the drop will be big

You can fire any weight you want w/out harm. Agree they should group well (but ya never know). Have a friend who used a .25 RWS48 for Squirrel hunting and in range ( believe he stayed indie 40 yards) all clean shots.

Some people forget the marauder owners manual does say's do regularly lube oring inside barrel ( every 500 shots ?). Does seem to help them last and last.

Post some groups.

Chronoed the marauder, jsb 25.39gr was about 836 ft/s or 255 m/s, jsb 33,95gr was 738 ft/s or 225 m/s, power is 39 ft/lbs or 53 joule for the 25.39gr and 41 ft/lbs or 56 joule for the 33,95gr, don't have enough air in the scubatank to fill her up completly only to 170+bar so cant do any string, but does that look ok or is it to low? The tune is full opened transferport, hammer spring tension 5 turns clockwise and hammer stroke adjuster 3 turns clockwise

Testing the accurasy with the 33,95gr and no difference from the 25.39gr in groupsize, just me that have to shoot pcp more cause i mostly shoot springers and I pull the trigger when i wait for the kick from the buttstock that doesn't exist in pcp's...

Ackuric that is some serius power!

Blackdiesel you are right, accurasy over speed any day, i don't hunt, but sometimes it is more fun with a hard hitting pellet at a metall target or a sodacan or something else that needs to be taken care of as a stressrelease after work when i don't have the patience to calmly shoot for accurasy, other days i enjoy shooting papertargets with the fwb 300s or Hw30, i like the variety with my different airguns, cant just have one you know hehe

My marauder with the OEM modified valve regulated at 1925 / 133 bar slings the 33.95's at 900 FPS. Cost to obtain this velocity = less than 100$...

For a completely stock marauder, your current speed with the 33.95's is normal and what I obtained stock.

Matt,

I'm going to have to say that your results are not what the typical Mrod Modder is going to accomplish, unless they are as skilled as your are.

And I'm not even going to talk about the aluminum reservoir you made, just the ssg system and valve mods.

Yeah and what Matt said low 700's sound about right for 33.95's.

For a stock, unregulated marauder, I would port the valve exit and barrel port to .157", and then I'd use either poly tube or make my own transfer port from acetal/delrin which cost around 5-6$ for a 6-12" piece, alternatively Ace Hardware sells Nylon tubing that suffices at just .20-.40 cents...

That alone should bring the power up and would be tunable for 3,000 psi to 2,150 for 50-52 fpe for a good bell curve. Very budget friendly build that can cost less than 10$.....toss in a SSG, light weight valve spring, MDS hammer, custom delrin poppet @ .275"~ OD with a stem thinned @ the area it occupies the valve throat down to .09", mild bolt probe modification (thinned and pull back shoulder slightly) and for under 100$ you can port to .187" and easily make 60 FPE (900~ fps with 33.95 gr) with the marauder on the same 3,000 to 2,150 fill range.

The above valve would open easier than stock due to less pressure differential across the poppet and ATM thanks to the reduced OD, and you don't have to drill the valve throat or risk damaging the valve seat thanks to the slight thinning of the valve stem where it occupies the valves throat, which again reduces the force required to open the valve compared to a valve that opens the valve throat to accommodate the bigger .187" ports opposed to the thinned valve stem.
