Built me a shooting bench and this thing is solid and heavy. Best of all the materials where free. Treated 2x6, 6x6 and composite decking. I did have to buy the screws and lag bolts thou. I’m ready to try it out.
I'm going to be replacing my bench this spring/summer and what I had in mind is very much like what you posted. Prob the only real structural diff will be a stand alone stool. I have the wood and a 'cheap' source ($1 a foot) source for a composite boards for the top. Still torn on 6x6 vs 4x4 uprights. I have a ton of 4x4's leftover from other stuff. My 6x6 post scrap (except for one piece) isn't long enough. NIce bench!!!
Nice bench. Looks heavy, well-built and solid. Now about getting it out of the basement...
Gonna requires some disassembly? Or will it maneuver through the doors?
I only jovially bring it up because I new a guy once who built a homebuilt airplane in his living room... he was WAY into the building when he realized an "oh no" moment had passed.
I was in Tyler Tx. Monday and will be back down there next week. Im just a hour away by Mt Pleasant ( Lake Cypress Springs ). Good to know someone else so close that shoots airguns as well. I own 150 acers N of Mt Vernon and White Oak Creek runs through it and full of hogs. You will have to come out sometime and pop some.
Chuck26287, it wont be a problem getting it out. Just built this shop and it has (2) 12x12 and (2) 10x10 roll up doors lol. But im sure at one time or another I have done something like that without thinking it though lol.
