Shooting aides, for practice

I have recently added a used metronome, found at a flea market, as a shooting aide for 10 meter pistol practice. I am trying to reset my maximum hold time at no more than 6 seconds- abandoning all shots after that. It seems to help,…who knows? Anyone else try this? What other shooting aides have you tried that worked, or didn’t?

playing with 10 meter stuff a while back....

put tape on the floor for a rough approximation of where my feet should be and how they should be aligned/oriented

put green tape on one side of the rifle, red on the other. that gun doesnt have a safety, so if I had to put it down while still loaded, it would have the red tape side up, after the shot it went down green side up
