Shoebox Problems

I am posting this here as well, looking for some advice.

I love my shoebox compressor, but I am having some issues lately. It stopped making high pressure earlier this summer. I think that some of the lithium white Grease got inside and gummed it up. I bought a rebuild kit and it worked fine for about 2.5 60 minute tanks. The lubing felt kept spitting out, though. I suspect that I need to replace this felt. Any one know its specifications? I am on my way to the hobby store this afternoon.

Anyway, about a month later I needed to fill my tanks again and could not build pressure above about 3200psi. So I went to rebuild it again. There was some black graphite looking gummy stuff in the low pressure cylinder. I suspect that it was some aluminum and the delrin spacer grindings. During the last lube, I really cleaned everything well and only used silicon oil and ultimox to lube it. Any idea what this is or what I did wrong?

This time I only use silicone oil for lube and some new synthetic felt. The felt did not stay in, but I made sure that the pistons were lubed before startup. I got the pressure up to 3200psi and let it sit over night. No leaks! I restarted this morning and just about got my pony bottle to 4500 psi and then the high pressure line blew out. I was able to rescue the bottle at 4000 psi. The tubing came loose out of the back fitting. I am not sure how this fitting seals, but after a bit of fiddling I got it back together with the oring and black washer. Does anyone know if there are tolerances for how far the ss tubing is supposed to stick out? I have not tested it yet. But running the piston by hand seems like there is a bit of rubbing on the upper /low pressure piston. I am not sure what could be rubbing, as the piston runs on the orings. Maybe rubbing between the delrin spacer and the other aluminum cylinder. Should I try it again or contact shoebox folks?
Thanks for any advice.

Good news to report. I contacted the shoebox folks about the problem. Tom got back to me within hours. The ferrel is definitely not supposed to move, as it is crimped on the line. The failure was very unique, so they are sending out a new line for free. I wanted to replace both lines, as I was worried that the other one may fail and asked if I could purchase the second one (and pay the shipping). They said no, they will send out two, along with spare felts. What great service! Hopefully I will be back to making air by the weekend. This is definitely a great company to work with.

To follow-up on my issue. The Shoebox folks sent me two replacement lines along with the felts. The baby is back up and purring quite well. It is making pressure much faster now. Two 60-minute tanks filled over the past weekend with no issues. So we're all good. Thank you to the Shoebox folks - glad I bought this one instead of the chinese junk.
