SHERIDAN SILVER STREAK 1950 AIRGUN

Hello all,

I am new to the forums and also new to air guns. My grandfather gave me his childhood airgun, I believe it to be a 1949 or 1950 silver streak. It does not say made in USA. Can anyone tell me exactly what year it is? Or what it is worth.

I also need to fix the pump because it does not hold pressure. Does anyone know a reputable place to repair it or can I repair it myself?

Thanks in advance

I'm not trying to sell it! I wanted to make sure it was worth repairing... ie if it costs more to repair than the gun itself than I plan on just displaying it but if it's worth fixing my kids will one day own the same gun.

I am simply trying to get some insight on what this gun is worth and how hard it is to fix, I was trying to figure out what year it was made, and how easily the pump can be fixed? It might just be an old gasket

The seals in your gun are leather they have dried out. Try putting a few drops of oil. Pellgunoil on the moving parts on the pump handle. Also a few in the tube the pump slide into. There is a small hope on the bottom. Don't put oil there it's the air intake.

they are easy to work on . You can buy new leather seals. Or make them yourself. I just rebuilt my blue steak. I purchased it in the 70s

they are a fairly easy rifle to work on. The barrel is brass and very pellet friendly. You don't need to clean it.

my .20 still shoots very well and is fun to shoot.
