Sheridan Model A Super Grade

I picked up a nice Sheridan Model A Super Grade last week. Sheridan produced 2,130 of these rifles between 1947 and 1953. This one is still going strong with the only thing being done to it was a new pump head back in 2007. Serial number 2246 puts it towards the end of the production run. Very very nice indeed. In such a beautiful original condition. 

I've acquired one recently too. From a collector in Montana. SN 420. It's in Holland (I live in England; customs here are a nightmare when it comes to (air) guns). Can't wait to pick it up. 

How is the trigger on your gun? I believe they are adjustable to a fine degree. I'm going to compare the SG with my Crosman Town & Country 107, both approximately the same age, although the Crosman was 1 or 2 years earlier. I think the SG is more refined, but that T&C is a nice gun too.

Absolutely awesome find!! How do you do it? !! The SG is an immortal classic. I had one for a bit but found out that I hate pumping. Lol. So I sold it to a collector.

I believe that there is a national registry for them . You might want to check it out. Mine was the one on the right. I got it from a guy in Hawaii who inherited it from his Grandpa.

What a gorgeous example!! I do not own a SuperGrade but my Sporter B is in a class all its own. It's a solid built tank and spins the 1 1/4 inch target practically every shot at 36 yards. 

I never understood the serial numbering on the SG. How is it only 2130 total SuperGrades were manufactured but the numbered rifles on the registry start at S.N. 00103 and the latest rifle registered is S.N. 03803 ??? Even your serial # 2246 would put it slightly past the total if they started numbering at 100 instead of 000

The trigger is ok. I haven't tried adjusting it yet but I think its on the heaviest setting. I think you will find the SG is in a different class than the T&C. The T&C is nice but You are in for a treat when you pick up the SG. Please let me know what you think when you finally get it.

Hi John, Thanks. I got this one from a fellow collector that was downsizing his collection. These guns seam to pass from one collector to another. I was put in touch with him through another collector friend. Anyway,I hear you about pumping. I just like the Super Grade so much I don't mind it, only putting in 3 pumps for the shooting i do with it anyway. The one you passed along sure looked like it was in excellent condition.

Hi Steven. I really like the Model B also and it's great that you actually shoot it. The numbering is curious for sure. The registry would seem to indicate that Sheridan put some big gaps in the numbering of the Super Grades, for instance it appears that #2300- 2900 were not used.

Hi looking to buy a model A sheridan like pictured. That's killer with old pellets and shooting target. Anyone selling a really nice one
