Ok so I.rebuilt the valve (has removable one) with all new stock parts, I replaced pump cup. The pump cup fits snug but when I go to pump it the air blows out the end with the slide bolt closed(has new oring). The air tube is clean and clear of any dings/scratches. And valve has few light scratches but nothing measurable. I even wrapper thread in oring grooves to spread prongs out some but still cannot get air to stop coming out end. The one way has the tapered end facing the air hole. What could be issue?

Just a guess-maybe the hammer is holding the valve open. Won't hurt to try cocking the hammer and pumping to see what happens.

Johnl yea I tried cocking it, left bolt pulled back and air come out the load area. Slid bolt shut(without pellet) and air continued out end of barrel. Wondering if maybe I missed an oring for exhaust port? I think the Sheridan’s from my dads era incorporated a tiny oring between the air tube and valve but can’t find anything for a gun in last 20 years needing one

Sounds like the poppet(exhaust valve stem) in the valve is leaking. Did you replace the poppet when you re-sealed the valve?

Thanks for all the responses, I pulled it apart again today And rechecked valve it was good. I went ahead and pulled the pump cup(new) and it didn’t feel as snug as when I put it in so I used the hair dryer and glass boulder marble trick all is well now. Tomorrow I will take it out back and c how she does. I left 1pump in for good keeps
