SFP or FFP video

Joe, 😊

thanks for all those reviews and videos you're making! 👍🏼

You mention that you like to dial your turrets (rather than use holdovers).

Well, in that case all this reticle stuff and SFP/FFP stuff kind of becomes kind of irrelevant.... 😄

In that case only SFP is needed — and simple crosshairs without hash lines are needed — thin enough not to cover your bulls/ killzone — and thick enough to draw your eyes to the center — that seems to be your preference, and rightly so.

It's when a shooter wants to use holdovers/ holdoffs for elevation and/or windagethen FFP and reticle hash lines become very important. ✔️

Keep making your videos, Joe! 👍🏼

Thanks Joe bro my fellow Texan

I have two fixed power scopes and all the rest are second focal, I never got wrapped up in the first focal plane Witchery and kept saying what's wrong with second plane scopes??? I don't get the latest greatest first focal plane phenomena.

Oh well call me old school.

Don

I agree. I like open sights or scopes on low power that don’t jump around so much with brain trying to compensate.

I don’t see the point of FFP. I don’t mind higher power variables to zoom in and find things, focus better, or see your actual small holes on target.

It’s not about there being “anything wrong” with second focal plane scope. Or “seeing the point” of FFP scopes. if you don’t get the point. There are many who do. So shoot what you like. For hunting I like FFP... others might not... thank goodness for freedom of choice.

Love it Joe! I’m going back to SFP after making scope stickers for yardage. Also, I used to buy a bunch of UTG scopes in my springer days, still have the springers but got rid of the UTG’s except for one, the 10X glass etched....was always why to admit but the thing is just plain nice to hunt with and it just works great! No muss no fuss, plenty of light, no blurring on the edges, cheap, what more can you ask for?
