Semi Auto PCPs?

Updated again to include LCS SK-19.

Updated to include links and suggestions from the community...

I'm in the market for a semi-auto PCP, preferrably in a larger caliber like .30 or above but .25 would be the minimum I would want to go. I've tried to do some research online to identify the more mainstream models available today. So far this is the list I have:

1. Evanix Max Air (http://www.evanix.com/max-air.html)

2. Evanix Air Speed (http://www.evanix.com/airspeedsemiauto.html)

3. Hatsan Barrage (http://www.hatsan.com.tr/en_barrage.html)

3a. Hatsan Bullmaster (http://www.hatsan.com.tr/en_bullmaster.html)

4. Hatsan Sortie (http://www.hatsan.com.tr/en_sortie.html)

5. Hatsan Galatian Tact Auto (http://www.hatsan.com.tr/new_en_galatian_tact_auto.html)

6. Huben K1 MK2 (https://www.krale-schietsport.nl/en/huben-k1.html)

7. Steyr Hunting 5 Automatic (https://www.steyr-sport.com/en/steyr-hunting-5-automatic)

8. Kral Puncher Auto (https://kralarms.com/en/urun/puncher-auto/)

9. LCS Air Arms SK-19 (https://www.airgunsofarizona.com/precharged-pcp/lcs-air-arms-sk-19-automatic-air-rifle/)

Are there any others I'm missing? Of the list, the Evanix Max Air and the Huben K1 seem the most appealing but don't appear to be currently available in the U.S. I'm left handed so the Bullmaster is out (as is the Sortie).

Well at least you have one problematic brand crossed off from your list so you won't need to find out for yourself.

Be thankful for being a lefty in this case.

I would personally stay away from the Huben unless there is a reliable repair station here in the US and a seller

who is willing to service what he sells and has consistent good followthrough for after sales purchase customers.

The .22 and .25 AirSpeed are making there way to the states shortly. I placed a pre order yesterday for a .22. They'll be here next month. Not sure when the Max Air will be available but assuming within the next few months. I do know they make them in .30 but don't know when they'll be available. I'm very excited to get mine. Jefferson State Air Rifles is the dealer and preorders just opened up yesterday. I was first on the list!

I have two Sorties (.22 & .25) and a Barrage (,177) and they are all very unreliable and seldom will shoot semiautomatic.. The Sorties have been back to the Hatsan-USA for repair and they still do not work well. The .22 Sortie will work only if the pressure is below 110 bar. and the .25 Sortie will go back a second time as the trigger stopped working. Unless I got three lemons I can not recommend them. There was one response in another listing where the Sortie owner disassembled his Sortie and cleaned and smoothed the parts to get it to operate.

I have the new Huben and like the gun very much. It will fire as fast as you can pull the trigger. It is accurate, 9 shot groups at 50 yards of less than 3/4 inch. I have only had it about 2 months but have not had a problem while shooting several tins through it. I also have the FX Monsoon. The Moonsoon is more refined in that it shoots 15.9 JSB's and the Huben shoots the heavies at the same velocities. I have many 10 shot groups at 50 yds in the 1/2 in to 3/4 in area. I like the fact that with the monsoon you can carry extra magazines. You can really go through the ammo with them.

I agree about the Hatsans. I literally threw mine in the garbage. As far as I was concerned it was not even worth fixing.

Everyone who has shot the Huben has been impressed with it. I don't have enough experience with it to comment on its reliability.

I have a Monsoon, .22. It is fun to shoot, fairly accurate, but not as much as other FX guns. it likes a narrow range of pellet weights for accuracy and proper cycling and cycles well only within a certain air pressure range, so you will get about three 12 shot mags before you need to refill. It is rather light weight, so that is handy. I am in the market for a Huben now, which shoots bullets better than pellets. I will sell you my Monsoon for 650$ as it has a air leak and needs an O ring or two. I am told is easy to re seal, but I don't trust myself.

I also had an Evanix .25 Max, a few years ago, that shoot semi and full auto. What a piece of C**p. It has an electric motor that loads and fires each shot so slooowly I waited for each shot to fire. Mine would take about a second or two to fire after you pulled the trigger on semi auto too, and sounded like a clock work mechanism. Ugly gun. Never even bothered to mount a scope on it to check accuracy... I got rid of it after trying it just one day. There may have been a problem with the large battery, which did not seem to hold a charge. Hopefully they work better now that the new ones aren't electric any more.

Similar to Steve (above), I've also had an FX Monsoon and an Evanix (Conquest); both in .22.

The Monsoon wasn't accurate enough to keep me interested, doing no better than 1" five-shot groups at 50 yards and 2" twelve-shot groups (full magazine). But the Evanix was indeed a piece of c**p. Upon it's second return to the dealer, I took a refund. Here's an excerpt from Airgun Chronicles-

Dream rifle nightmare- Unfortunately this brand-new Evanix Conquest refused to function long enough to test. In less than 100 rounds, the gun exhibited FOUR kinds of malfunctions (locked-up action, cork-screwing pellet-flight, failure to index/dry-fires, and magazine locked in the action).

Hi, I have been reading about your gun (like it, Huben, Matt Dubbers video about it is good...) , so far my understanding is that shoot better slugs than pellets and I believe that been a new system, having a gunsmith that can repair it nearby is a must. All guns are amazing when you get it (well...almost, some are crap! jaja) until they fail, anyway, glad to read about it ... (devil says: buy it buy it, and the angel: you do not need it! jajaja)

Wow, very cool! Thanks for sharing, I hadn't seen anything on that. I ultimately wound up with a Huben .25 and have been very very impressed. It's expensive but wow is it worth it. I also noticed at IWA this year there was a big splash about a new Chinese company (AEA) making allegedly full auto/3 round burst air rifle in calibers up to .30. Will be interesting to see if that materializes.
