Semi-Auto Benjamin Marauder .22 - is it worth it?

The semi-auto Benjamin Marauder in .22 supposed to be out this month for around $650-$730. I know it's a first generation and some issues are expected (as far as the semi-auto), but it is built on a proven platform that has been out for many years now. In comparison with other semi-autos and their prices/capabilities...is it worth it?

My guess is they'll work pretty good until a certain drop in pressure. At that point they may not cycle so well. Should be interesting....I'm intrigued myself having Marauders for a number of years now. At least it's Crosman with great service and warranties.

Or maybe go FULL AUTO after it dips below nominal function pressure. Interesting... HUMA regulator set just a click right above that dump point. As plenum refills bringing pressure back above dump point after that whole magazine is emptied with that one trigger pull the valve closes till the next time you press the trigger BRRRRAP!!! NEXT MAG! 😉

I think it's going to be worth it. I'm looking forward to getting one when they come out with one in synthetic stock

It might be a while for the synthetic stock Dillon but by the looks of it it should drop in one of the hydro dipped stocks for the regulated Mrod. Now will Crosman cut loose one of those stocks without having to order a custom shop Mrod.

From HAM article:

“So what happens when pressure falls below the regulator set point?” I asked. The answer is that the Semi Auto Marauder will still cycle with pressure down to around 1,000 PSI.

Below about 1,000 PSI – half the regulator set pressure, of course – the gun will not cycle. Air just bleeds out from hammer bounce and the gun must be re-charged with High Pressure Air, Phillip told me. The hammer bounces multiple times and does not re-sear. This can happen until all the air bleeds out.

It looks like it has a built in training device. If you shoot it too far past the reg set-point, you get to pump it from zero. ;)

I would think the warranty is 5 years like the others Crosman sells. I am also in favor of the synthetic stock...I prefer lighter, but the synthetic also does not expand/contract with temperature like wood.

Interesting about the full-auto and the HUMA, not sure that would be something Crosman would like :) But I believe that it comes with a regulator already. Is it a HUMA?

I GET ROYALTIES IF ANYONE MAKES MONEY CHARGING TO FULL AUTO CONVERTING PEOPLE'S GUNS OFF OF THIS!!!

MAYBE RUN DUAL REGULATORS IN LINE TOO. SHOOT SLOW IN SEMIAUTO OR SHOOT FAST GOES TO FULL AUTO. AUTO RESET EVERYTIME THE MAGAZINE IS EMPTY.

Well, not royalties, but would bet you a tin of pellets that they don't do it that way. ;)

If that happens, IMO it will be a trigger assy mod. Not sure how much fun a 10 shot mag will be with full auto, but people will want it. :)

We will also see how many pellets they will squeeze in aftermarket mags. 14?
