Sell rifle.

Hello,

I have a real pretty rifle that refuses to shoot. I have reached the limit with it. I have brothered the good folks on this site about it for the last time. So I want to sell it and hope to never see it again.

The question, how can I be honest and sell it without telling it don't shoot well at all. I don't want to lie but I would like to have at least some of my money back.

It would make a great door stop,or maybe a pretty pry bar. It would look great on a mantle board. Just don't bother shooting it.

Thanks for your advice.

God Bless Bobby

PS, the screws are tight.

I’d say. In your for sale advertisement. Post a photo of the best average grouping. Stating exactly how you held the gun.( off a sandbag rest / artillery hold....? ) What scope and what power you used. What pellet was used. And target distance. That way the buyers knows exactly what the gun is capable of shooting.
If the buyer thinks they are an expert marksman. And that they can out shoot anyone. Your advertisement did not mislead them.
If they are an inexperienced airgun shooter and feel that the accuracy of this gun is good enough for their intended purpose. Your advertisement did not mislead them.
Then it is up to you to price it accordingly.

My post was a joke born out of fustration. I would never tell someone that the gun is a good one while knowing that it is a piece of junk. I just ain't made that way. I have had it did to me so I know how that would feel.

When it come to airguns you are the folks I have to talk to. Did not mean to anger anyone.

The rifle is with my other rifles and will stay there till I can stand to try it again.

Thank You all and God Bless

Bobby

Sell it just how you just described it if you dont enjoy shooting it. You cant get it to shoot worth a darn and its frustrating, tell them that. People who want to try and fix it and get it shooting well will still buy it, and you eliminate the people who want a perfect gun and would feel scammed if it didnt shoot well. Honesty is the best policy and everything is worth a price. Toss it up for sale and see what happens, consider the offers you get and make a decision.

So you want to pass this broken air gun on to someone else without telling them it is broken? Why?

Nothing wrong with this unedited post and shame on every one of you who ASSUMED he intended to do something he never said he intended to do. Nothing like being welcoming and helpful to a new shooter who hasn't found the key to his particular rifle yet, eh?

Bobby;

Lets talk about expectations first. What do you consider to be acceptable accuracy? What do you expect your gun to do?

After you answer that question lets talk about what the gun is actually doing? What sort of performance are you getting and under what conditions?

From there we can decide if your rifle can be made to meet your expectations. Don't quit until you know you've done all you can.

These rifles can be frustrating, in particular in the beginning.

What model is your rifle?

The only thing I have seen you do on here so far is cause problems.

Says the man who immediately assumes someone's intentions are nefarious? Honestly, pot meet kettle. Look, read the guys original unedited post. You owe him an apology.

Or do we need to revisit, "Says Who?"

No one owes him an apology. This post was done until you got involved as usual. You can revisit anything you like. Why don't you threaten me like you threaten others on here?

What are you talking about? Look the guys is frustrated. He wants some help with his gun. He thinks he needs to sell it but doesn't want to take a bath. He literally says he doesn't want to lie to anyone but you have to immediately accuse him of wanting to sell his gun without being honest.

Now you are accusing me of being threatening. What's your next trick? You going to get your panties in a wad because I am speaking the truth to you?

Seriously, man up. This ain't rocket science. If you were in his shoes, would you want him to make the post you made? No you wouldn't, but you aren't going to admit that are you? Nope, you are going to get in my grill for calling you out and saying you should be a bit less insulting....
