so I was shooting my .30 cal FX Impact yesterday and I some how let the barrel screw loosen and before I realized it …I pulled the trigger…I was greeted with a very large pop in the face,it’s was kind of stunning in a way,so once I straightend up I pulled the magazine out and a little rubber ball dropped out with it,I grabbed my glasses and could clearly see where it came from, what looked like rubber bumper to hold the magazine in place obviously have some other purpose? Check valve maybe? I put the one I found back in but there are 6 holes and I only have five have the rubber balls in place ,the top ball on the right side is missing I believe ,gun was shooting just fine once I put it back together but I decided to run it over the chrony to see what I was getting on power level max I was getting 824-828fps compared to the AOA sample that was 858fps ,it appears that I am down 30fps is it possible it’s related to the barrel blow out or just the difference in chronographs?or some other factor .its a newer gun I got in mid January ,anyone else have anything like this happen?

I just can’t believe FX has not yet resolved the barrel screw issues!!! There’s NO EXCUSE for this FX!!! Fix it Damn IT!!! Nobody should have to babysit that darn barrel retention screw. Somebody’s going to get hurt. Ernest Rowe came up with solutions to this problem long ago. Why have they not yet been implemented?

Yes. Ernest posted a video where he drilled and tapped a tiny hole in the flange of the barrel retention bolt and inserted a grub screw to keep the barrel retention bolt from working loose. It’s a known problem and a known fix. I can’t believe FX is still shipping new guns with barrel retention bolts that come loose and allow the barrel to slip out. You’re lucky you weren’t hit in the eye with that rubber bumper.
