Seeking Opinions: FX Dreamline vs Edgun R5M

they are basing dreamline off the streamline/ crown blocks. should be a good gun, edgun is built like a tank, video shows him running over gun with a truck! if you plan on bumping this gun around the edgun holds up better, you could also look into taipan veteran, vulcan 2 or kalibregun cricket. all are good guns. 

I cannot help in resolving your quandary on which to choose between the FX Dreamline and the EDgun R5M Matador. 

However, I'm compelled to ask -- based on what you've read about the FX Impact:

Should I expect issues with the O-rings in my FX Impact(s)? The first of which I purchased approximately a year ago, and use daily.

I have the .22 Dreamline and a .25 R5M. Build wise, the edgun feels like it is built from two Dreamlines. It is a tank as they say. They are different enough for I to keep and use. Basically, to appreciate an example from each manufacturer and enjoy shooting them. 

They both do their job well. Shoot. My Dreamline so far is shooting with tighter velocities. The difference is small though and it can be due to pellet to pellet weight variances. 

IMO, many of today’s pcps are very comparable especially ones in the same cost range. It was not like that back in days. In my experience I once bought a Daystate that today a marauader would our shoot. The price difference was over a grand in todays economy. 

I also own one of the first impacts in .25 cal. A nice gun but it would not shoot well for me. Velocities varied more than my liking and it showed when I shot for groups. I didn’t want to spend much time or cash on it so I got rid of it. I like to tinker but not on the impact. On a plus, it is built very solidly and one thing that I liked that the Dreamline (yet) and r don’t offer is a bottle to swap on the fly. 

I would buy a gun from a reputable dealer. I think that is the most important factor buying a gun nowadays.

I have a streamline 22 and r5mlong 25. Both guns are very good and accurate(for my standards). The streamline has a better trigger, my edgun isn’t bad once I adjusted it. The streamline is lighter, I shoot better offhand with the edgun. The edgun was bought because of the reliability... it’s so simple, but it takes some break in. It’s still not as smooth as my streamline, but has become my go to gun for critters. I think the wildcat would be a better comparison to the edgun. 

I use the Dreamline more well..because it’s new. 

Too early to tell. 

If I could compare the dreamlite to a bullpup, it would be a taipan mutant short in 22 cal. They both cock smooth (much smoother than my R5m) and the triggers are close. The taipan might of had a crisper let off if I recall correctly. I agree the trigger on the dream is smoother than my edgun. Both triggers are are as recieved them from the dealer.

my next will probably be a veteran shorty in a grey laminate stock if they are ever offer here. Don’t know if I want a.22 or 25.

After about 700-1000 shots my edgun action isn’t too bad. Yes it’s not as easy or smooth as the streamline, but it’s much faster and I like the forward handles on both sides. 





Broozer I would go 25 cal if you like the harder whack and to hear the pellet hit. I also get a lot less fly offs with the 25 over my 22 especially as ranges get closer to 100yards. 

I think you will really like the dreamline, what caliber are you going with?

They are reputable. Made 2 purchases from them in the last 10 months.
