Events Second Annual Western National Long Range Airgun Championship match

Yes, the Canyon Shoot in Temecula is coming again!

First notice: May 17, 2020 is the date for the Second Annual Western National Long Range Airgun Shoot here in Temecula!

The inaugural last year was a big success. I hope this one will be bigger and better! I'm extending the shooting line (last year we had four shooters per relay, but with some work and planning, we can have as many as nine shooters on the line at once .... allowing more shooters to fire more relays for more fun.

The distance will remain 115 yards, as will the .22 cal max and pellets only rule, but this time bipods and magazines will be allowed. Don't bother with high cap mags though, as shots per relay will still be limited. I'm raising the shooting wall height to about three feet improve target visibility and shooter comfort, but it will remain shallow enough so the rifle buttstock must be supported solely by the shooters body. Shooting from low stools is ok.

Camping sites will be available and you can sight in the day before, and when your relay times allow. There will again be a separate sighting area with identical distance and similar winds available adjacent the main range.

I'll have entry forms soon.

Updates to Second Annual Championship Shoot, May 17, 2020

I’m changing a couple things from my October post.

In the interest of fairness, I’m rescinding the allowance of multi shot magazines single shot adapters ok [tweezers work fine too]. I’ve also decided to limit shooting squads to five shooters per relay in order to simplify marshaling and target setting. Use of bipods and shooting from a bench will raise scores, so we may have some tougher targets in the event to help bring increase the challenge a bit. We will still be shooting clays at 115yds, but will likely have some smaller targets too.
