***Look at my setup***New gun pictures attached*** Scoping an HW30s

Hello Gents,

I'm considering getting a new HW30s. Eventually I know I'll want to put a scope on it. I was wondering, those of you who have done it, have you encountered any barrel drop issues? I mean my HW35 has a considerable amount of droop so I had to get adjustable mounts to deal with that. I've seen lots of pics of scoped HW30s so its my guess that there are no barrel droop issues. All I want is a set of medium mounts and a low powered scope and be done with it. What's your opinion?

No problems with the Bugbuster scope, and I love the red dot too. Superb little rifles for sure.

Juan, I did one of my R7's like this because I wanted it looking like a .22 rf more than an airgun. Vintage Bushnell 3-9x32 gloss scope. Burris gloss steel rings. I had no droop issues.

35's are that way because many owners prefer to keep the irons.

Barrel angle was marked on the box of Several Beeman rifles I bought years ago. I still have a box or two like that

Two of my Hw30s are scoped. One is actually my fiance's but I'm in charge of it.

Her's has a Hawke 2-7x32 Vantage AO IR. It's very similar to the very nice Hawke 2-7x32 Vantage AO but the reticle is etched glass and a little finer.

Mine has Hawke 2-7x32 Airmax. I like the reticle and glass better on the Airmax. Both guns use Sportsmatch T02C rings

It's my preference to match the size and magnification of a scope to the size of the gun and it's useful range. I shoot beer cans out to a hundred yards with mine and 7x is enough for that type of accuracy. I also think the smaller scopes balance and look better on the Hw30s. That's just me.

Does she like it?

I told my gal last week I would get her out to shoot some cans with her R7. She was thrilled! But it didn't happen. Bummer. Maybe next weekend. She really enjoys wapping cans. Very relaxing for her. And I like that. Such a good wife.

"She does me good and no harm all the days of her life"

Yes, the gal loved it. She is not confident yet on cocking the gun yet. Since the gun is brand new, the linkage is a bit still. I know it will loosen some in the next few days.

That is quite the stock! Guaranteed to put a smile on your face. I suggest H&N 8.64's, mine really likes the 452 head size. Start asking your neighbors to save their cans, you are going to need them! I keep hoping a certain stock maker will make a left handed monte carlo style stock for the HW30. The whole "shut up and take my money" trick did not work. Someday.
