Hello,
So right to business. I got a new Gamo Whisper G2 and I put a "Simmons 3-9 zoom" scope on it (Good .22 scope) and I was getting big groups and couldn't seem to get it sighted. So then I put the scope that came with the gun ($30 scope) and I can't sight it in and I can't have a pellet hit the same spot twice. I've shot about 1000 rounds through it. Any suggestions?

thanks,

Gamyrick is right on-see if the gun groups with open sights first if it has them. An airgun needs a special scope due to the two way recoil, so most firearms scopes are not suited for breakbarrel type guns. If the gun groups well with open sights, make sure the scope mount has a stop pin to keep the scope from sliding. It's a good idea to pull some patches through the barrel on a new gun to remove any rust preventative or oils that are in there. If it doesn't group with open sights try different pellets (the PBAs are junk) and make sure the stock screws are tight. Is this your first breakbarrel?

"Airgun_Pig"yes this is my first breakbarrel and I have so much to learn
If you google "Gamo Whisper G2 review" in Youtube, most reviewers will show you how the gun gets better or worse groups with different pellets. The only way to find out which one yours likes is try a bunch. If someone in a video gets theirs to group well with a particular pellet, that does not mean the same pellet will work well in your gun. It's trial and error really but it sure is fun trying different things and figuring out how to get your gun to be the most accurate it can be. The PBA ammo is usually junk. Also, I've never had any luck with Gamo pellets but they're so inexpensive it's worth a try, you never know. Good luck!

May have better luck with JSBs, or if you need to pick one tin up today try the Crosman Premier domed pellets that most Walmarts carry. Gamo pellets have one of the worst feedback as far as quality and accuracy.

As pointed out previously, springers have double recoil and may need to check out your scope make sure it's not moving. Set your parallax properly, as i can cause some large shot-to-shot errors. I used to have an old Tasco Japan scope on my RWS54 Airking that held up great, also had a Leapers scope that also performed solid.Simmons scopes are usually good, at least for my PCPs. As mentioned earlier, see if you can shoot with iron sights so you can eliminate the scope as the problem.

If you download chairgun and play around with it you can get an idea where you want to zero in your scope.

I'd recommend you start at close range-say ten yards. Use the open sights and see how you do. try different pellets and see which seems to group best. Don't forget to blast some tin cans from time to time to keep it fun. Try holding the gun tighter or looser and see what that does. If you can make the whole process fun it MAY help you not go crazy, lol!
(It's already too late for me, heh, heh!)

Most likely user error. Your not holding the gun consistent. Try to sit down at a table, check where the rifles point of balance is, then hold it there (lightly) and rest your elbow on the table. Put the but pad into your shoulder, firm but not hard.

Then try to group a few.

Couldn't believe the difference it did on my own rifles.

I have almost the same rifle but the first version 2008. I did add the $30 trigger and it changed everything for my shooting. But you didn't tell us what distance you are shooting? For me its a 25 to 40 yard gun. I use crosman hollow points most of the time in that rifle. Any way here is a link to the trigger site www.charliedatuna.com . Your version of the whisper rifle is supposed to have a better trigger system so your trigger may not need change?
