Scope Shimming ?

I’m old school...my almost new Diana 48 was shooting about 4” left at 20 yds with an optically centered scope. I have several trees in the back yard with a variety of forked branches. I placed the barrel in a convenient fork and applied a little pressure with my hand to “adjust” the bbl in the direction it needed to go, took a few shots, it was closer to point of aim. Repeated several times till I was within 1/2 “ and then just dialed it in with the scope windage knob. It has been dead nuts for several years now. No stress on the scope. Don’t use the stock butt to push, you need to put your torque at or near the reciever to barrel juncture.

Well here is what happened i took out the shims and re squared the scope the scope was canted when i redid it and rechecked it and rechecked it after the screws were tight and rechecked it i believe the scope cant is what made it shoot to the right once i got the cant correct i actually had to raise the scope in the rear to bring my POI down with the FX No Limit mounts just loosen and there is a grub screw that moves the mount up then retighten. I shot about 200 rounds no problems. The Knowledge Center on this forum is what made me see if this was the problem and it was thanks AGN.
