Scope Recommendation for HFT

I assume you mean standard HFT as it is in the UK?

In that case have a look as the optisan evx 10x44i. I think that should be within your price range. Good glass (better than other optisan stuff thanks to fixed mag) and reticle.

If you can find a sightron-siii 10x42 that would be even better - more expensive than 400usd new but maybe you can find one used. They're stunning scopes.

I use Vortex 2.5-10-32 PST Viper and also the Dimondback 4-16-44 Tactical for HFT and both are amazing . Both work really really well in low light , in woods and in bright sunshine . Cheaper scopes I would certainly suggest the Hawke Vantage side focus 3-12-44 , a perfect scope for not a bunch of doe . All are defo work a look buddy .

I don't know what the following scope exactly costs in USA but the Sightron STC 3-16x42 is an excellent HFT scope. In it's price class it's definitely in the top of the class in terms of glass clarity and resolution. The Vortex diamondback 4-16x44 is also a great scope for this type of shooting. I would stay away from the larger objective lenses for HFT since it results in larger parallax errors when you're not properly mounted behind the rifle.

I use the Athlon 6-24x50 on my HFT rifle. The matches I’ve been attending has seen a growth in using FFP scopes.

Same here.

A friend was hounding me all winter to try Hunter. He even sold me a nice big side wheel, freshly taped no less. I calibrated all the distances to my eye over a weeks time in various temps and got things as close as I could.

Went to the match and of all things I won the match and the division, surprised the heck out of me??!! I wasn't expecting the Argos BTR 6-24 to range as well as it did but I got all the long targets except at the very end of the match when the wind got nasty, I dropped 2 more points, not the scopes fault though.
