Scope rails

A while back I started using "UTG Universal Dovetail To Picatinny/Weaver Adaptors" with my HW95 and Beeman R9 break barrels to convert the dovetail mount to a Picatinny mount. For rings I use the Weaver Quad Lock rings. The "Quad Locks" only available in 1" size, however there are tons of Picatinny rings for other scope tube sizes.

The UTG adaptors are one piece ( no separate clamp plate) similar in function to the more expensive BKL one piece mount, however the UTG also comes with stop pins. The addition of the UTG adaptor does raise the scope higher above the receiver, however with the scopes I use the height is perfect for a 50mm AO.

The UTG universal mount..........

Here is the rather cheap Weaver Quad Lock Rings (about $10). I need to use the "high" version with the adaptor for scope bell clearance.....

How the setup works with my HW95, 5-15x50 Hawke Panorama and Weaver Quad lock rings.......

Here is the same setup with my 4-16x50 Discovery VT-2 after painting the silly bright blue lens caps black.........

LOL....the scope before painting the blue flip up lens covers.........

This pic shows how the rubber insert in the UTG side wheel was "wallowed out" for a "close slip fit" with the Discovery focus knob. The side wheel was secured using RTV silicone rubber and it works a treat............

This pic shows where I also machined the "factory knobbies" from SW rim to make it easier for attaching my "holdover tape". LOL...you can also see some residue of the blue RTV rubber used because I didn't have any black RTV..................

Best part, adaptor and rings only cost about $25.......
