I believe I have landed on a buying a Hawke 4-16 x 44 Airmax 30 for my soon to be received TX200. Aesthetically I prefer a two piece mount. Would it be a mistake to use a two piece mount? I believe this set has a stop pin.

If I were you I would get BKL 11mm two piece mounts.
Just degrease rail. Some folks use fine sandpaper to give bite. I wouldn't want to mess that finish up.
If you drop a Tinbum aftermarket Delrin fitted kit in your shot cycle will be much less harsh and quiet, less abrasive on the mounts/scope trying to walk.
BKL won't walk.

This is the Hawke scope mounted on my HW95L using Hawke tactical 2 piece 30 mm medium rings which has been excellent for several hundred shots.

I’m getting mine tuned to 12fpe and will be using one of Hectors modified ZR Bullseye mounts. This is a precaution as I’ll be mounting an old but very nice NIKKO Sterling 10-50x60 FT scope on it. I don’t want to break this scope! Uj

I did the same with my 12 ft/lb TX, one of Hector's modified mounts. I mounted a Premier modified Leupold Mk4, 35X on mine so I wanted no chance of damage. Must be one that Hector modifies if you want no wiggle and no shifts.

The two piece Sports Match heigh adjustable mount with stop pin works great. I have this mount on Two TX200s, two ProSports, and a number of Weihrauchs with absolutely no issues.

Never had an issue with a Sportsmatch mount if properly installed. Been using them for 35 years !! I prefer the one piece adjustable, but used the two piece mounts for years on R1 and RWS 48 with no issues.

+1 for the Sportsmatch mounts. I've used them on a Diana 460 with no issues. Currently have them on several springers.

Honestly, I used a utg picatinni adapter rail, and then a set of utg picatinni rings. The rail has a scope stop pin, and it works well. I have super low rings, and I can get a good cheek weld with it every time (I guess I have a fat face. Lol), but it doesn’t budge at all. I can also swap scopes between my other guns if I want which is why I went this route.

Hi Al. For my B-46 22cal under-lever I finally found the rings that would hold the scope,a 3-9 x 40 Hawke, and not creep. They r BKL-258 double strap (200) series with 3 clamping screws They give alot of gripping surface for the scope and definitely provide a strong clamping to the 11mm grooves. For my R-9 that has a 2-7 x 32 Hawke scope I am using the BKL-278 MB (1" Double Strap Offset Dovetail Rings). I think these rings would be to low for your scope. Check out the BKL website. The BKL-263H set may meet your needs but look at the BKL Single 200 Series for more choices. I think the prices r a bargain as well. I use BKL rings on my 3 magnum springers. No more issues of rings creeping back or the scope turning in the rings.

I ended up going with a BKL Model 360 one piece . Scope and mount were delivered yesterday.
The scope fits in the mount as expected. The 3" diameter side wheel is a tight fit but clears. I may put the mount in the milling machine and touch off the corners of the rings on the wheel side for a bit more room. The gun is is arriving tomorrow and I want to put it on the gun first and will then decide. I will likely not use the wheel that often anyway.
The BKL one piece mount is stout and I like that the way it is constructed with no moving parts (other than screws).

I would agree here. I use one and two piece mounts on my air rifles with success going more to the 3 screw one piece mount with rings above over the "two piece".
Two pieces can be had with or without a holding post in the rear (common from AOA when they scope a rifle--it seems the one piece is more expensive).
However, I have replaced two piece mounts with Diana Zero Recoil Mounts and Rings and keep the 3 screw sideplate mount on the rifles.
The two piece is not as "grabby" and as the poster here said maybe with sandpaper and such those mounts won't "slip" as much.

I have a one piece mount with stop pin that came with a Hammers scope mounted on my other HW95. Both set ups have worked very well.
If the mounts are good quality and have a stop pin either system is ok. If I had a magnum springer I would try a one piece mount first.

As you likely know, the BKL Model 360 one piece doesn't have a stop pin. However it also doesn't have a loose clamp for the dovetail attachment. It is one piece of billet dovetail and you have to use jack screws to flex it open enough to slide it on the gun's dovetail. After lots of investigating, I am convinced its design and 6 screws result in a very robust clamping system. Time and use will tell however.

I ended up machining the rear ring clamp slightly to give a bit more clearance for the adjuster wheel.
